The Killing Breed: A Western Fiction Classic (Yakima Henry Book 4) Kindle Edition
Yakima Henry has been dealt more than his share of trouble – even for a half-white, half-Indian in the west.
Now he’s running a small Arizona horse ranch with his longtime love, Faith, and thinks he may have finally found his share of peace and prosperity. But a man from both their pasts is coming – with vengeance on his mind.
“Hooks you instantly with sin-soaked villains and a compelling hero. Yakima Henry has a heart of gold and an Arkansas toothpick.”– Mike Baron, author of Florida Man.

Bill Thornton owns a roadhouse in Colorado Territory, he had the best of everything, and Faith, the perfect whore, was bringing in the money for him faster than he could count it.
Then on that fateful day, a breed that he had hired by the name of Yakima Henry killed one of his customers that was with Faith. Even though the man was roughing her up, he should not have killed him and his friends. Afterward, some of the others told Thornton, that the breed had been taking advantage of him with Faith. Well, no whore was going to put one over on him, and a little cutting of her face would fix that problem. Going after her, she surprised him and shot him in his side, it never healed. Later the doctors told him that trying to fix the festering mess would kill him. He would just have to live with it.
Now here he is two years later, a sick man, and business falling off to nothing. Feeling really down tonight, he did not want anyone to bother him. But dang it, Lowry Temple and his four other bounty hunter friends came a-knocking. While they were all drinking and talking he made a deal with them to kill Yakima and bring him back Faith, alive and untouched, he had a special knife waiting for her! That would make him feel better!
Faith had come to Yakima for help to rescue her brother from a Mexican prison, afterwards, they resolved the issue where he had left her up in Colorado after he had rescued her from Bill Thornton, her old boss. He finally admitted to her that he left because of him being a breed and he did not think it would work for them. She told him that he thought too much and that she loved him too. The three of them returned to his horse ranch near Saber Creek, Arizona, teaming up together catching wild horses. They would bring them back to the ranch to be gentled down some and then they would sell them to the local Army outposts. Kelly, Faith’s brother was still healing from the torcher that he had endured in Mexico.
Today though, Yakima had awakened to a noise outside, rising he found that a wild stallion was trying to steal his mares. This wasn’t the first time either. He decided this time though he and Kelly would try to track him and take him down. This was not a decision that he ever thought that he would have to make, he revered the stallion but just not when he was trying to take all of his hard work (the mares) out of his corral. So, off the two men went, Faith remained at home in case the stallion circled back for the mares.
Faith heard the sound of hoofbeats, rushing to the front door she realized that it was not Yakima and Kelly. Fear filled her as the five bounty hunters overtook her. They promptly prepared to head back to Colorado, and the waiting Bill Thornton. Yakima heard shots and he and Kelly headed for the house, shots are fired, Kelly went down and then Yakima took one.
Join Yakima and his friend, Harms, tracking the bounty hunters and Faith to Colorado Territory…
What did I like? Come on, it’s Yakima Henry!!! This man is ruggedly handsome, caring, loving, and loves his woman, and of course his main man, Wolf. The Black stallion he had trained from a colt to be his best friend and sometimes even a savior. As you know, I relate well with Yakima, being part Native American myself. His values, his beliefs, his knowledge, and his love of the world around him, make him special to me. Plus, he just seems to be a magnet for trouble, which I get to read about! You have to feel for the fact that he has finally found a woman that loves him for the man he is and not someone trying to take advantage of him. Faith truly put her life on the line for him and she is the equal to Yakima. They both see it that way.
What will you like? Well, wherever Yakima is there is usually some kind of trouble in one way or another, this storyline is a heartbreaking one, when the bounty hunters capture Faith and head for Colorado Territory, taking half of Yakima’s soul with them. An exciting and remarkable storyline that will capture your heart, right to the last page, as you feel Yakima’s pain. Peter’s descriptions and details will light a fire in your imagination, as the terrain comes alive along with the wildlife and nature. The characters are unique and fascinating, some in a not-so-kind way! The ending will take your breath away~! ‘The Killing Breed’ is available today, June 8th, 2021.
