The film has a remarkable cast that all offer great performances. But there are few problems. First of all, this is not a literal book to film translation. The writer of the novel is a character in the book, and half of the story takes place in the modern day. That is all dropped. Second, the film is divided into two distinct parts, with a considerable shift in tone. The first part deals with the rise of Heydrich in the Nazi hierarchy. Jason Clarke and Rosamund Pike both do a great job as Heydrich and his wife Lina, and Stephen Graham is quite good as Himmler. This is the better half of the film, although it is very rushed and many of the key moments in Heydrich's life - his naval court-martial, his formation of the SD, the Night of the Long Knives, the creation of the Einsatzgruppen - are all rushed through without provided deeper context. (The scene where they celebrate Hitler's elevation to the Chancellorship is jarring, largely because it looks like a warm summer day when in fact the event occurred in January, and the parade was at night).
The first half of the film was rushed to accommodate the second half. This part of the film examines the Czech and Slovak parachutists charged with assassinating Heydrich. It follows their training in England, maneuvering through the Czech underground, their love lives, and finally the assassination and its aftermath. It is not a bad story, and generally well acted. The problem is once again - its rushed. One does not get a deeper sense of what these men were trying to do and why. Even this might have been acceptable except for the fact that the film came out about the same time the much superior Anthropoid was released, starring Cillian Murphy. Anthropoid told the story of the assassins, but took its time and really invested in the story and the characters. Here, it just flies by too fast.
All told, "Killing Heydrich" is just not a good film because it tries to do too much. If the film had focused largely on Heydrich as more of a straight bio-picture, it probably would have worked. As it is, it just falls flat. It does have interesting moments to be sure, and the acting really is quite good. It's too bad the performances couldn't have been in service to a better picture.

Good movie as good as Anthropoid which is a movie about the same subject.
The 2 movies have a little different approach. In my opinion:
Killing Heydrich (2017): more details regarding the character and the personal life of Heydrich.
Anthropoid (2016): more details regarding the Czech rebels and the plot to assassinate Heydrich.
of Heydrich life, how he got to the point of his ss status. but I needed them to speak some German.
cause even with the English they didn’t sound German at all. I needed that twang they have.
to make it sound more authentic, but overall the movie was excellent.
Very Good Movie.
