If you are planning on getting married read this book 1st and do the "Kingdom Marriage Workbook". Both will bless your life and prepare you for a marriage that edifies God's kingdom, not yourself. Selfish people need to be alone and not in a marriage or a relationship period. There will never be reciprocity. Only people who are selfless and don't mind being givers should get married. That way the love tank never runs out. Both people make deposits and withdrawals. Dr. Evans defines love like this, "The decision, not the feeling, the decision to righteously, compassinately, and responsibly seek the well-being of another."

I can't even begin to address the power of this book. I also purchased Dr Tony Evans book for Married Men Only. The two books go hand in hand (no pun intended). I was 2 weeks from finalizing my divorce with my wife, NO JOKE. The combination of the truth that I was able to pull from these two books really helped set me in a different mind set. If you are struggling in your marriage with your wife, these books are fantastic for the man to work on his end. if you have a wonderful marriage already, I don't see how reading these books won't help you have an even more amazing relationship. Oh and these books finally answer the age old statement that most of us have absolutely no idea what it means... to love your wife as Jesus Loves the church. The understanding you will get from that statement will set your marriage on a whole new level. I intend on reading and re-reading these books for years to come. I am so thankful to have heard about these books on Christian radio in my car. The timing was impeccable... as God's timing always is! Oh and you should know that a week later, after reaching back out to my wife, I called my attorney and cancelled my divorce proceedings and began working my building up my marriage.
