About the authors
Caitie Quinn used to be the pen name for Bria Quinlan. Unfortunately, Caitie came to an untimely death and Bria now writes the books along without her other personality.
RWA RITA award finalist and USA Today Best Seller Bria Quinlan writes books for teens that take hard topics and make you laugh through your tears. Some people call them issue books. Some people call them romantic comedies. Bria calls them what-life-looks-like.
She also writes Diet-Coke-Snort-Worthy Rom Coms about what it's like to be a girl and deal with crap and still look for love.
Her stories remind you that life is an adventure not to be ignored. You can contact her at www.briaquinlan.com OR on Twitter @briaquinlan.

Jenna is a YA author who's publisher wants the main character in her books to experience her first kiss. Jenna wants to protect the character and thinks she's not ready but really it's Jenna who is not ready to move forward after being burned by her high school/college sweetheart.
Pushed into going out by her really appalling excuse for a friend (I absolutely loathed Lisbeth), she uses the night out to try and experience a first kiss so she can write about what it feels like. After trying to get a kiss from a guy with a girlfriend, she encounters Ben who finds the situation hilarious.
Assuming that Ben wants to get with Lisbeth, Jenna is lead into a series of events that she didn't expect, not realising that it was Jenna that Ben in fact wants. In the end, Jenna gets the answers to her research, Ben gets the girl and Lisbeth loses out for being in Ben's words...
"shallow and rude.... and probably the worst girlfriend on the planet".
I thought that Jenna was a wonderful character, with how clumsy and awkward she was. Ben was loveable, and it was great to have a man who sees through the gorgeous yet completely horrible friend. Lisbeth was just an ridiculous person, who blatantly puts Jenna down (in my opinion, trying to make herself feel better), and if she was a friend to mine I would have kicked her to the curb long ago.
This was such a feel good novella, that made me laugh and smile with its humour and fun. The perfect quick read :)
Jenna Jameson is nothing like her porn star counterpart. She is a writer of young adult books with very little personal experiences of her own. That's why when her editor tells her that her main character has to have her first kiss in this book Jenna panics. For one, she looks at these characters as her kids and she is so not ready for this. Secondly, she hasn't had a first kiss or any kiss for far longer than she wants to admit. How embarrassing is it to have to go out on a hunt for a first kiss, so she can write about it?
Ben is fascinated and terribly amused when he overhears Jenna asking a guy for a first kiss, for research purposes only, of course. As she stumbles and bumbles her way through the explanations Ben finds himself more and more interested.
This book is too cute! It's so fun to follow the path that Ben leads Jenna down to get her attention and to get the research information she needs, of course. I was so annoyed with the best friend and spent most of my reading swearing I was going to write a scathing review because of this friend. It all works out in the end, so I take back my bad thoughts.
You will not regret reading this book!

Ely is a writer of YA books. Her agent is pushing her to have her 16-year-old character from her series experience her first kiss. As Ely lives through her writing and has no experience herself, she calls on her friend to help her out.
Lisbeth is a hot looking siren, you know the type. All of the guys crowd around her vying for her attention as she preens and flirts, while you are brushed aside.
Ely doesn't care about all that. She just needs her advice on describing a young teens first kiss.
Lisbeth suggests they go to a nightclub to do research and what happens there is much more than Ely ever dreamed of.
I adored this story. Even if I had an idea where it was going, it still surprised and delighted me. I felt all warm and fuzzy inside and had a lot of laughs at Ely's expense. She's a good sport and puts up with a lot of crap from Lisbeth.
There are some hot guys in this and even though you don't get to know a lot about them, their personalities make you wish you did.
It was fun reading a story about a writer developing and researching her character and making her grow and mature. All writers should have fun with this short and sweet tale.
I give this 4 Kisses!
Jenna Jameson (not THAT one) is a successful young adult author who has a problem. She needs to 'mature' her popular teenage character by having her experience her first kiss. Jenna is in a panic. She doesn't think she can (or wants) to write about those 'first kiss' feelings. So, she enlists the help of her friend, Lisbeth who has PLENTY of experience in this area. I thought I would love Lisbeth at first. Who doesn't like to read about an over-the-top best friend. I quickly discovered that she is a first class beatch!. And, she's not even the kind you can sort of tolerate, the bold, brash, what-you-see-is-what-you-get girl but the sly, sneaky, don't-turn-your-back-or-you-will-find-a-knife-in-it kind of hussy. Lisbeth, being the good friend she is (NOT) forces Jenna to a bar for some 'research' and finds a man for Jenna to 'research' with. What follows is one of those reads I long for...infuriating (because of Lisbeth) uproariously funny (because of Jenna and her reaction to the situations she finds herself in) and heartwarming (just because-don't want to give too much away).
There is only one problem I have with Caitie Quinn's writing. She doesn't write fast enough! I need more, more, more of her work!

Once again Quinn demonstrates her ability to mix humour, warmth and a bit of spicy underlying good ol' animalistic attraction.
The main character is a YA author doing research for her novel and the initial conversation with her agent is Quinn having a little fun and poke at authors in general.
As a reader you feel like pushing the main character and cheering her on. That is also something I have noticed about this author and her particular flair. She draws you in and it feels as if you are there watching events unfold from, the sidelines.
A feel good story for some stolen moments in between.

All in all it was an ok read to pass the time, but I won't be rushing to read the rest of the series.
