Don't think this book is going to be the aimple reas of the first, i thought that and had to stop reading all else. And this was a fantastic journey, with very few liberties taken with Japan, the folklore, the language, ot other aspects. I wa IM-presses with the author's attention to detail. I can't recommend this highly enough for those who like stories of youkai or kitsune, or Japan, or samurai, or the medieval period, or the Warring States Era, or magic, or many other topics I can name.

I was (im)patiently waiting for this sequel and bought it once it was available. The beauty and mystery of Japan are revealed little by little, and the fact that this is set in a Japan that never was, only adds to the beauty of the story. You'll see the power and sacrifice of true love. If you haven't read Kitsune Tales first, do so and then come back and purchase Kitsune-Mochi. Then get a nice cup of tea, put your feet up and be transported to a time and land far away.

Great story, great characters. Love the "not-Japan" setting and kind of wish I had a kitsune around here! A little romance, a little coming-of-age, great battle scenes, an evil magician, unlikely allies. This book is packed with action, without sacrificing character development. A very satisfactory sequel to the much shorter (but also excellent) Kitsune-Tsuki!

A little difficutl to read in the Kindle version due to the constant need to refer to the Glossary to understand some of the terms. The tale is quite engaging, but hyperlinks would make it much easier to read.

Like part 1, this book would have been easier to read if the plentifull mix of english and japanese would have been kept exclusively for necessary terms. Other than that part 2 of the Kitsune Tales returns to a well readable book format with a decent page count whereas part 1 was definitly too short.

I'm taking a star off the rating since I got the feeling the end of the book was a little hurried and forced in a way that could've been made better.
While character and story development was a steady, slow chain of events during 4/5 of the book, the last 50-70 pages suddenly exploded into a hastly final and a surprising short end and outro.
