A Knight's Persuasion (Knight's Series Book 4) Kindle Edition
While riding to an important meeting on behalf of his ill father, Edouard must face Lord Geoffrey's enemies, who have returned to Moydenshire to destroy him. Taken prisoner and chained in a tower, Edouard must fight not only for his life but for Juliana's as well. When Juliana wakes, she has no memory of who she is or what happened to her. She only knows she's captive in a chamber alongside a man in chains who insists he knows her.
For reasons unknown, her feelings for this stranger run strong. Were they once lovers, or is he a cold-blooded killer? Determined to regain her memories and know the truth, Lady Juliana discovers that nothing can vanquish love or the power of a knight's persuasion.

Several years later finds Juliana is a lady-in-waiting to her best friend, Mayda. She has given birth to a daughter and fears for them both. Mayda makes Juliana promise to protect her daughter, Rosemary, if something should befall her. Something does happen to Mayda and Juliana finds herself threatened by Geoffrey's old villain Veronique and her son, Tye.
When Edouard de Lanceau is on his way to Mayda and Landon's keep, he discovers Juliana de Greyne body floating on the banks of a river. Finding her still alive, he takes her to Landon's keep, where they are captured by Veronique and Tye. Now that Veronique has Edouard, she sets her trap for Lord Geoffrey de Lanceau. Can Edouard and Juliana escape to warn his father? Is Rosemary alive and safe, or dead as is feared? Will Juliana and Edouard have a chance to love each other, or will Veronique succeed in killing them both?
The characters are real and well drawn. The plot is familiar but with twists and turns to keep the reader interested. There is no cliffhanger in this story. I thoroughly enjoyed this medieval novel. I look forward to other books by Catherine Kean.
I have to admit with everything going on in the book and the slower romance I didn't really get captured by this book until about 50% through. But it had a good ending, so stick with it.
There was sensual talk but no sex scenes. I would label this as a clean read.
