Kronos Kindle Edition
Drawn by the spectacle, Trevor Manfred, a ruthless billionaire, approaches Atticus with a proposition: Trevor will make available all the advanced technology of his heavily armed mega-yacht, the Titan, to aid Atticus in his death-quest. In return, Trevor is to receive the beast’s corpse as the ultimate hunting trophy. But in the midst of the hunt, Atticus makes a terrifying discovery that changes the way he sees the ocean’s creatures and begs the question: What is Kronos? The answer sets him on a new and much more deadly course.
This updated edition has been re-edited, revised, repackaged and expanded, making this new edition of KRONOS superior to all that came before. Be sure to look for Robinson’s early standalone novels, which have likewise been revised.

The story starts with Atticus on the beach in a contemplative mood. It quickly moves to his daughter, in town and in trouble. Dad rescues daughter with a little humor thrown in. Then we are diving with whales. During the dive the daughter gets eaten by a sea monster. Atticus ascends too quickly, dies on his boat after broadcasting an SOS. He is rescued by his ex-girlfriend and wakes in the hospital. Enraged over his daughter’s death, he vows vengeance against the monster and teams up with the evil Manfred. From there it is battles with the monster and battles with Manfred and his henchman. Atticus and Andrea get help from several unexpected sources.
Atticus realizes his rage is out of place but is unable to chance course without outside assistance. The sea monster is a surprise and through Atticus’ interaction with it, he is brought back to his marine biologist values. Of course Manfred doesn’t like this and chaos ensues.
This book poses several questions of Biblical proportions. I don’t know if Jeremy is working out his questions or sharing his beliefs, but the questions and discussions in this book, and his others, help focus me to review what my beliefs are.
Overall this is a great adventure book with surprising twists and wonderful characters. I was reading it during finals week and had a hard time putting it down. Don’t be afraid of the issues about God that are raised in this book. Everyone has a belief system that is reflected in all they do. I find Jeremy’s thought provoking and stimulating.
It had it’s high points and the main character was a cookie cutter bad ass. I say that in the best way possible. He checked all the boxes for a hero with iron will and skills to match.
I just can’t recommend it.

Whilst swimming with his daughter Giona, Atticus Young, a former US Navy SEAL, witnesses her being swallowed by a giant sea creature. Onto the scene comes a bored billionaire who wants the creature's body and Young's ex lover Andrea, who is now a Coast Guard officer.
As well as the coincidences above it's got all you would expect from a decent action story, lots of fights, a killer shark, romance and death. The monster itself harks back to 17th Century New England and a host of sightings that have occurred in that area ever since. It's not just your normal man against beast tale though; it goes far deeper with ancient Biblical lore mixed in as well.
I love collecting books about sea monsters and this was original, what other books are there about a 150 foot creature? This book has more than enough to deserve 4 stars.
