The flame of liberty has been extinguished.
In the span of forty-two hours and with the stroke of a pen, tyranny was ushered into the United States. Some embraced the conversion while many opposed it in silence, too scared to speak up. The few who did voice opposition were quickly squashed and scattered across the new darkened American landscape.
For patriots, Nathan, Jess, and Denny, they find sanctuary on a homestead in southern Illinois. There they hope to ride out the chaos, but quickly find there is no place that is sacred or untouchable. They will come to know that the tree of liberty, as Thomas Jefferson wrote, must certainly be nourished with the blood of tyrants and patriots if freedom is ever to reign supreme again.
Meanwhile, a looming omen hovers over everything he holds dear. A huge murder of crows circle a large, well-equipped and organized group of aggressive survivors that are about to discover the homestead and threaten everyone’s way of life. When a bad decision leads to the loss of a family member, everything changes, and Darrick must reanalyze and adapt himself to the situation. Mistrust and paranoia take hold as Darrick struggles with the blurred lines between friend and foe.
“Who’s really in charge?”
Martial law is coming! It’s not a matter of “Will it happen?” It’s a matter of, “When will it happen?”
This book answers the questions that people ask about martial law. It addresses the many facets of fear surrounding the topic, and challenges the reader to question their readiness for the imminent declaration.
There are only two choices now, liberty or death.
America is unrecognizable. The darkness of tyranny has cast a long shadow over the landscape, but there is hope and it rests with patriots like Nathan, Jess, Denny and those others unwilling to bend the knee.
Following the violent raid on their homestead in southern Illinois, Nathan, Jess, and Denny trek north to liberate their friends now captive in a UN controlled FEMA camp located on the heavily fortified Goose Island outside of Chicago. They know their journey will be treacherous and fraught with danger, as they will have to evade a brutal dictator and those who have sided with him.
With an uncertain outcome and the odds against them, they’ll rescue their friends or die trying.
"Sometimes even to live is an act of courage." - Lucius Annaeus Seneca

That’s all that is on their minds now.
And if you’re sick… and there is no doctor?
In search of a new place to live—while on the run from the Omen gang—Tonya nearly succumbs to her illness when they stumble across a strange and unreliable man on the road. This stranger knows of a community with a working hospital, and an apothecary that relies heavily upon holistic medicines. Tonya remains skeptical, but Darrick optimistically pushes the group forward in a relentless search to find someone who can help her.
But, not everything is as it seems.
Having sustained life-threatening injuries in his search for her, he awakens from a two-year coma to find that the world is not the way he left it. To make the situation worse, Yellowstone has erupted and expelled an ancient microscopic organism that threatens the course of human survival.
Now Mason must traverse the ashy suburban landscape in search of his now nine-year-old daughter. Along the way, he discovers a far more terrifying enemy than humankind can safely manage.
But instead of wallowing in could have been’s… Emma stood up to fulfill his dream. With sheer grit, she purchased a claim, and built the Lazy Snake Saloon on her own.
Soon, she was happily, and successfully, running it, until a gang of armed land-grabbers encroached upon her life and threatened to erase everything she’d built. She would soon find building the saloon, and running it single-handedly wasn’t the hardest thing she’d done yet…not by far.
She’d also learn the west was never really won… It was taken...by force—and by men.
