If you are that sort of person, you won't be disappointed in it. Thing is massive. The instructions actually have images to show you how to properly lift it and move it around.
I clocked roughly 21 hrs total build time. I'm not sure if that's fast or slow. Make sure you not only have somewhere spacious to build it but also somewhere in mind to put it before starting.
One look at the manual (see pic) when you take it out of the box and you'll get an idea of what you're in for.

Downsides: she’s real ugly. If your trying to get a date with like a princess or something, she’s probably not going to be too impressed. And there’s this distinctive wet Wookie smell eminating from it. Not sure if it’s something a couple dozen air fresheners can take care of or not.
If you can get your hands on this set, get it! It is the largest production set ever! It is HUGE! The box itself is more like an end table than anything else. This will provide many hours of fun!
This is not for beginners or young children.

He gets a decent tax return and what does he want to spend it on? The largest Lego set possible!
This is truly an epic Lego set with hours... upon hours.. upon hours of fun.

Basically it is the most epic childhood dream come true for an adult LEGO lover.
If you can somehow justify the cost (we don't drink at bars, we got a good tax return, first year not paying for daycare... whatever) your husband will be eternally grateful.
One thing I can say, the dishes at my house have never been so clean ;)

The thing about this build is, it's flimsy. To make a Falcon that is 2 feet wide by 3 feet long, should have required 10,000 pieces. Way too many weak connections and poor fasteners. The entire top panels basically rest on the structure, nothing snaps into place. You'll find while you're installing a new piece, previous pieces you've installed will pop off and need reinstalling. Once you get close to the end, there's little to no structural integrity, even when lifting the ship as the manual instructs, the weight of it causes the ends to bow and pieces to fall off.
I bought a stand, the most recommended and managed to get it on it. It looked great until I closed a drawer below and the ship collapsed and started breaking into pieces. I tried to salvage it, bit with every motion, another piece fell off. Like I said, they do a lot of one nub overlap in the construction so it's flimsy. Once it starts to fail, it's like dominos. Now I have 7500+ pieces of heartbreak in a box. I'm going to rebuild it, with super glue to compensate for Lego's money grab design.
This set isn't like other Lego sets, build it where you plan to display it and don't go near it when it is done. I've spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on Lego, this was to be my pride and joy, instead, it's my biggest disappointment. For 1K CAD, I'd expect much better Lego.
