Jeffrey is tasked with finding the perpetrator and halting production of the publication. He reluctantly agrees, despite the fact that it will detract from his attempt to court the lovely Lady Phoebe, and causes growing controversy between the two of them. When he finally determines the publication’s owner, what will he put first — love or duty?

Phoebe starts a flirtation with him to keep an eye on him. Jeffrey is stoic and believes a man is superior to a woman. What starts as a flirtation becomes much more. But when Jeffrey finds out her secret it could be the end of something beautiful. Great secondary characters such as his precocious sisters and his charming mother.

Great story. I enjoying the story of a strong woman and afraid to be different. In a time where woman could not have her own income or monies. This is the beginnings of woman's independence. I can do w/o love scenes but rather can read between the lines rather than the sheets. A man can show his love by his actions. Paying attention to details.

This is a great start to this series. Lady Phoebe Winters is spectacular. She is self assured and not afraid to challenge the status quo. Jeffrey Worthington, the Marquess of Berkeley is her perfect foil. They challenge each other which makes for a feisty encounters. Their family members add fun and mayhem to the plot. It is an exciting story that is truly romantic and a wonderful page turner.

What a different kind of story ! I loved it; we have Phoebe an independent somewhat well-off lady. She was raised to speak her peace, and grew up reading all the newspapers at the time. Very unusual as a lot of women never learn to read. While reading them she is furious that all of them are for men only.
She decides its unfair and is determined to right this wrong. With funds left her by her parents she starts "The Women's Weekly", a paper run by woman for woman.
Phoebe has three ladies that are like sister to her. Julia, Sarah and Elizabeth who try to keep her out of trouble. After having a confrontation with a gentleman who over heard her talking to her friends she is very upset. Jeffrey Worthington, The Marquess of Berkley is everything all ladies of the ton are looking for. He is very handsome, wealthy and will needs to marry to carry on the family line. He is the top pick of the mothers of the ton. Not someone who would even look at someone like her.
Now they seem to run into each other a lot. He is very stuffy, opinionated and arrogant ! So why does he make her so feel so funny. After he finds a copy of "The Women's Weekly' on his own table being read by his sisters ( four of them) he is furious.
He is tasked by other gentleman of the ton to find who is behind the paper and put a stop to it.
Phoebe hears about the plan and decides the best way to know what he is up to is pretend to like him and keep him close. Oh, my neither expect what the other is up to. With help or interference from all his sister, his mother and the cutest dog, Maxwell thing get out of hand fast.
Keeping secrets could either bring them closer or ruin everything when they come to light.
With all that is going on between them, there is another who is bent on evil unknown to them.
What a great story, can't put it down. Secrets, mystery, Intrigue and lots of kisses and love.
This has some steamy scenes for those who want to know.
I received and ARC from the author and wish to thank her. This is my honest opinion and my freely giving it.

The journey keeps you entertained. I thoroughly enjoyed this witty, romantic, steamy story. The pace of this book was paced just right and the adventure grabbed my attention from the start.

An enemies to lovers story. Lady Phoebe Winters and Jeffrey Worthington, the Marquess of Berkley, have different views and opinions on what rights women should have. And the sparks fly when the two of them start to disagree and argue. As their feelings grow into love, will their different views keep them together or tear them apart? And will the Ton find out that Phoebe is actually the publisher of this newspaper and cause all kinds of scandal for herself.

Very enjoyable story. I loved the interaction between Jeffrey and his sisters and mother. They seemed like a great family, except for their brother. And Aunt Aurelia was the type of chaperone every girl would want. And don’t forget Maxwell the lovable dog. I hope you enjoy the story as I did.
