As far back as she can remember, Mikki was creating characters and stories in her head. Mikko writes for young adults but easily finds a home in the hearts of any generation. She has joined my list of favorite authors. I'm not going to repeat what the story is about, although the title is a clue, and let you get right on to reading her book for yourself.

Spencer was upset that she had to work on her birthday but we don't always get what we want. Yeah and her day is not turning out to be a happy day. A guy comes into the café making demands of Spencer so when he grabs her she turns him into gold.

What? How did she do that? Who is she? What is she? These are some of the questions that were floating around in Spencer's head.

Then a couple of guys in gold robes show up trying to take Spencer away but luckily this cute guy steps in and stops the gold robe men from taking her. Now she has these guys fighting over or for her.

Yeah that's the day Spencer's life changed forever and she begins a journey that she never dreamed she would be making. She finds out that she has magic and that there are people looking for her that could put her life in danger. But lucky for her that this cute guy Eli shows up to protect her and keep her safe from all the bad guys.

The Last Atlantian is a fast paced read that grabbed me from the first page and never let go until the last page. Once I picked it up I couldn't put it down again. The world building was great and so were the characters especially Spencer. She was just so cute and quirky.

Spencer had a hard time remembering people's names and at first I was like how can anyone forget everybody's name all the time but then I thought well everyone has something that they have problems with that makes us unique.

The Last Atlantian has been a very engrossing and eye catching story one in which I would love to learn more about and to see where Spencer's next leg of her journey takes her and to learn more about her background.

The Last Atlantian by Mikki Noble is a young adult fantasy with mythology roots. I am hoping this is the start to a series because after reading this story, I can really picture how it can be expanded. I enjoyed this adventure tale. It was a mashup of king midas with his golden touch mixed with the mythology and folk lore of the atlantis society. It was a lot of fun.

In the Last Atlantian we meet out main character Spencer as she turns 17. Right away, some strange things start to happen. Within the first chapter, a man turns to gold right before her eyes, and a stranger appears out of thin air and gets into a fight before whisking her away. The Last Atlantian does not have a dull moment in the entire book. The story is fast paced and the plot is always moving forward at a steady clip. Most of the time, I really enjoyed that aspect of the novel, but sometimes I wish the book would have slowed down just a smidge and had some of the details fleshed out a bit more. There were times where I wanted a little more description and a little less moving.

If you are a fan of young adult fantasies, The Last Atlantian is a fun read. I loved seeing the authors take on Atlantis culture, and the nod to king midas’s touch of gold was really cool. Those aspects of the story felt unique, and I really enjoyed them. I am really hoping there is a sequel to this one.

A nice new twist on the myth

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and its take on the myth of Atlantis. It was well paced and the action flowed nicely. My only complaint was the ending was that of a stand alone book. I really hope we get more of Spencer's adventures.
