Again, and again, and again, Quaintrell never fails to deliver. Even if you expect something, and even if that something does happen, it will still manage to surprise you by the WAY it happens. There were so many twists and turns, rises and downfalls in this book that I doubt someone could read it and not be entertained or on the edge of their seat. For fans of fantasy, read this series! For people who don't like fantasy but love a good story, read it! And for those who don't feel strongly about either of those things, read it anyway. You won't regret it.

I love this series. I am so glad that the author is choosing to stay in this world, and to expand it with different paths. While waiting for this book, I read his sci-fi series which I loved as well, but my heart will always be with this one. I highly encourage people to read through it. In scale, I have read the Wheel of Time series, and at times especially in the later books it was a slog. With this series, I never get tired of the characters, and how the stories progress. Great job!

These books, one through eight, are all brilliant and unbelievably unique. All of the main characters, from Inara, Vighon, Asher, etc. just doesn't stop the thrill ride you experience from within to read it all to the end of book eight. What a book!! Intensely inspiring stories throughout indie. Vighon especially. Alijah has lost his incredible mind and Maliath with him. I am really happy that I found out what happened to Gideon and his faithful companion the dragon Ilargo. They've been through a lot but I'm sure it will continue in the last book of The Echo Sagas. Just like the rest of the cast. I can't wait to read the last one. I'm sure it will even topple this one.

There wasn’t a bad thing about this book, or this series. I have completely fallen in love with all of the characters. Especially Vighon. Man, he really got raked over the coals in this book but I can see a better man at the end. Looking forward to seeing what happens with him in the next book!
At this point, I would say to pick this book up but this being book 8 out of 9, you already know that this series is amazing and this book is another excellent edition to my new favorite fantasy series!

The multiple story lines and the plethora of characters are, at times, difficult to follow, but in time will weave an elaborate tapestry that come together in a way that leaves an enduring story of adventure, love, sacrifice, and finding one's true purpose that will bring this world to life and make you hunger for more. Can't wait for the final book and prequels to follow!

So it's with a heavy heart that I'm reaching the end of this series ... I have read half of this slowly, to prolong the book but half way through it got pretty exciting. (If was quite exciting all the way through in truth!) My first love is Asher and he had his usual full quota of deaths (of others) to his name. Vighon - needed a good shake but pulled through the despair to stand tall. all the characters come alive in this book as they have through the whole series. Almost dreading reading the last book because I don't want to say goodbye to any of them!
