Ok, the movie got off to a nice start: boy meets girl, boy courts girl, boy marries girl, couple lives happily together. But over time, their lives cause them to spend less time together. That all happens in the first 10 minutes. Once that's done, it's anyone's guess as to what really happens in the rest of the movie.
Here's what I think I may know: The Yakuza is involved. And there's maybe a bad cop. Or a lot of bad cops. Or no bad cops. And there's a good cop. Maybe. He could be bad. And there's a wife in the picture who never sees her good/bad cop husband and this causes marital problems. And I think there's a drug involved that alters one's perception of time. (this last one seems to be the most important because I'm pretty sure the director was on it when the movie was shot).
Bottom line, I think the guy (who I'm pretty sure is good) gets drugged with something (Rever, I think. Not to be confused with Reefer) by someone (there's a long list of people that could have been guilty of drugging him) that alters his perception of time. But given the ending, I have to say that this is inaccurate, the drug must actually just whip you around in time in real life. Because after an hour and a half of total confusion of things happening yesterday that happened tomorrow but didn't happen today but happened somewhere else... the movie basically ends like nothing ever happened except the couple had a fight and good guy husband has a headache.
Seriously, drop acid before watching this. It might make some sense that way.
