I have enjoyed the entire series and this one does not disappoint. I purchase these in Audible format and the Narrator is top notch. My long commute is much more tolerable with these types of adventure stories - and while I was never into D&D/LOTR fantasy the Author as done an exceptional job of mixing that lore with our modern weapons and warriors. Greatly looking forward to the next installment.

Honestly , I thought the Book of Joe was the best out of the series until I read this. It says something about the series that the best book is the last one to come out.

In this book the Rangers continue their mission in former North Africa by taking a port city. In this book , Talker gives an account of three separate fights in the battle as each team has a different prospective and role in the battle. I found it amazing that the book is written totally different than the rest in the respect. In short , the Rangers fight Lazard warriors , wizards and orcs. There is a great tragedy in this book which I won’t ruin for the reader , however , it hangs over the reader over the whole book as it’s revealed in the first chapter then explained in the last.

In summary, the series is great and this book is the best so far. I’m sure I’ll say the same about the next book. The authors really have done a great job developing the characters and each story is unique. 5 stars and by far one the best values in entertainment, in any form, is to read this series.

Incredible! The authors again describe all the action sometimes it seems in excessive dialog but "Lead the way" is filled with action and heros and though it is From the point of view of the character Talker there is very little talk about Talker's addiction to coffee and it takes a lot of descriptive dialog to let the reader know and understand what is transpiring! The book is fast paced and sort of hard to put down once you start reading it,: I strongly recommend this book and the Forgotten Ruin series,, at least books ,1 through 6!!

The Battle of Sustagal is a heck of a tale. This one was a bit of a departure from how Talker has told the previous stories, which made for a little bit different reading experience. I really enjoyed getting a bit more interaction with Monroe and Thor, as well as the overall epicness of the battle. It really feels like the Rangers are adapting to the Ruin, and I’m the process changing in interesting ways. I fully expect something like the Delta Kings to be how things end for them. The ending of the book definitely left me with questions! Who can Tanner not talk about? And why does he have a message for Talker specifically?

I could not put my finger on it. There is an irreverent tone in the other five books that is missing from this one. It didnt capture my interest as its predecessors did with apparently little or no effort. Unlike the first five books, I found that I could put down Lead the Way. Its not bad, but its not up to the high standard of the other five volumes. Returned for a refund.

A great read, Talker however seems a little more scatty in this one. A little more distracted. I must confess I liked the storyline’s that were a bit more cohesive, (ie. talker had less interruptions in his retelling) but still very atmospheric and a decent read.
