There's two types of Chinese: Cantonese and Mandarin.
I only know Cantonese and seems like not much people speak it nowadays.
So I must learn Mandarin to fit in to current Asian culture.
And it takes time.

I really liked how each character was broken down and explained - very easy to follow. And the workbook is great. Using this book has made a huge difference in helping me remember the characters. Not to mention my writing looks SO much prettier and is not lopsided anymore! =) Would highly recommend to anyone trying to learn how to write Chinese - great for beginners and even more advanced students as we can always improve our character writing!

The pronunciation is explained but a CD of hearing the correct way to say it would build more confidence. Chinese is a tonal language so it is important to learn with correct inflections
