Well done all around, a western with several stories strung together and converge, unexpected

Way too many films these days have one or more of the following failures and most typically lean towards the more side but this film covered its bases.
Well done in all departments, cinematography, sound, editing, directing, casting, writing, storyline, settings, make up and yes, acting which is unusual these days. And the best Doc Holliday I have yet to see in 60 years.
Good job.
I enjoyed the film very much and will be looking out for this director and actors in the future.
Thank you

This is not a white hat/black hat western.

No one is going to get an acting award in this movie, but no one was bad either. For the most part the dialog is simple and not complicated so its an easy movie to follow. If you need a white hat and black hat western, then this is not for you. This movie has no good guys, it true to life that everyone is a bad person, just good in their own eyes. I’m glad I watched it, but it is not one I would likely watch again. Its good entertainment and I have to say the horses did an outstanding job acting. I really believed them to be horses. If you like westerns watch this movie. If you really don’t care for westerns, then you should skip it.

Now if we could get Amazon to stop forcing Amazon's low quality shows previews before the movies start. Or if we could get Amazon to fix their streaming service on Roku so the buttons worked without a 4 to 10 second delay. If we could get Amazon to remove a show or movie from the watch list when a user selects to remove it instead of just moving it to the end. If we could only get Amazon to place a marker on all show/movie Icons that have previously been watched. If only... thanks Amazon for making our viewing experience worse and being the worst steaming service on the internet.

1 star: couldn't watch more than 15 minutes. Unwatchable!
2 star: jumped my way to the end for the ending. Unwatchable, but interested in how this turd ended.
3 star: watched it all, but not happy about it. Nothing better to do.
4 star: I watched it, liked it well enough. Would never watch it again.
5 star: Great moving picture show! I'll watch it again, and maybe again in a few years.

Nothing to write home about, but watchable.

Couldn't even watch it through

Anyone who knows me knows that I can watch some pretty bad movies and enjoy them. This movie was unwatchable. Choppy editing, horrible cinematograpy (dark dark dark - I'm sure there were things going on that I just couldn't see) and just a confused mess. Who's a good guy? Who's a bad guy? Who cares if they all get shot. Allowing for the suspension of belief - there is no way you can run with a pillowcase full of gold that seems like it is full of cotton candy. That would be really heavy guys not flopping around all poofy. Sigh.

On the other hand, costuming and sets were spot on. Beautifully done and other than the fluffy pillowcases, it was perfect. If it had been in a movie with a plot that could be followed without a road map it would have been magnificent. It may be a great film, where everything comes together in the end and a lot of the mish mash makes sense but I literally could not bring myself to watch the whole thing and that has never happened to me befor.

Love this movie. The script, acting, cinematography, and the music. The movie includes actors playing John Wilkes Booth and Doc Holiday. Hard to find good westerns, Glad I found this one.

Extremly Authentic But Also Somewhat Confusing
Verified purchase
I watched this because I grew up going to Possum Kingdom lake every summer and I remember taking boat rides to Hells Gate. It appears to be a confusing mis mash of local legends. The producers tried to tie a seemingly unrelated legend about the Lincoln assassination to legends about the Hells Gate rock formation in Possum Kingdom. The result is fairly authentic but somewhat confusing. Acting was ok but the cast were mostly unknowns. Summer Glau is the only cast member I have ever heard of and for some reason she was playing a very minor role. The production qualities were quite good. The location manager was able to give the movie a lot of authenticity by filming street scenes in some local Texas towns that still have actual store fronts built in the 1880s. But the story telling technique was somewhat hard to follow.

pass this one up!!!

This movie lacks continuity, jumps around & lacks decent film making. It's just a waste of time trying to follow the story if it has one.
