The World is Full of Giants
The world is full of giants...
Some come knocking on our doors, threatening to tear our lives apart. Others are far away, guarding treasure and glory, waiting to see who will challenge them.
Maybe debt is your giant—a pile of second and third notices that you don’t know how to answer. Maybe it is an illness—a diagnosis that destroys hope or an injury that puts an end to your dreams. Maybe your giant is a cause—a suffering people that pulls at your sense of justice or an inequality in your community. Maybe it is fear—a paralyzing doubt that sends you into long days of anxiety and depression. Hunger, disease, poverty, corruption, abuse, deceit, war, addiction, hate—we live in a world of giants.
Fortunately, we also live in a world of giant-killers!
Encounter the story of David and Goliath like never before. Learn the practical “ground rules” that will bring you into a life of facing your fears, overcoming obstacles, and slaying the giants that keep you from fulfilling your destiny!
Since the fall of man, the orphan spirit has been at the root of much of the chaos, division and destruction in the church and in the world. This spirit is a mindset that leads to a state of the heart, and is rooted in the moment Adam and Eve were separated from union with God by their sin. God never intended for us to live as orphans without a father or without a home.
We have a Father in heaven whose chief joy is to give us love, peace, joy, security, and abundance. We can only find these things in His home. The first face, the first touch, the first emotion that Adam and Eve experienced was that of a loving father. As you read Healing The Orphan Spirit, receive a revelation of how to live from your identity as a child of God. Father God is waiting for His sons and daughters to understand who they are and to be the co-heirs He created them to be.
Jesus left His Heavenly home to be born on the earth as a man, leaving His Father and His godly nature behind. As a child, He was raised for a time in Egypt, having escaped Herod’s mass execution in His earthly home. As he began His ministry, He was continually on the move with His disciples going from town to town and being unwelcome in many places. He had no earthly home, yet He never felt the sting and pain of the orphan spirit because he was constantly with His Father.
Jesus said in John 3:13, “No one has ascended to heaven, but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of man who is in heaven.” Jesus, of all men, did not have an orphan spirit, for He never really left the presence of His Father. He was at home wherever He happened to be physically, because He and His Father never lost the connection… not until He took our sins upon the cross. There He partook of the orphan spirit when He cried out in anguish, “Father, why have you forsaken me?” Only then did Jesus experience the pain of the orphan spirit, as He died to bring us back to a relationship with our Father.
Now we can come back to the Eden Father created for us and we can live from Heaven, instead of toward Heaven.
Moreover, without an encounter with the God of love, we are driven to perform. The Apostle Peter is the best example of a performance-oriented follower of Christ. Yet his desire to follow could not be sustained. Performance requires power, but power is not the only thing we need in life and ministry. Peter was disillusioned by the lack of power, especially on the night of the crucifixion when, to him, Jesus appeared weak.
Peter was not the first person to be confused in regard to the mission plan of God on this earth. John the Baptist was on the same hallowed ground as Jesus when he baptized Him in the Jordan River and heard the same voice that said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17). Yet John the Baptist did not expect such tender words. We need to understand that before Jesus revealed Himself, John was busy preaching a message of judgement. He was passionate in reiterating, “The ax is already at the root of the trees,” and we can just imagine how terrifying his message sounded to his listeners.
As a forerunner and primary messenger, John the Baptist expected God to back him up in regard to his pronouncement. Instead, he was given a front-row seat to witness an affectionate moment between the father and his son. We too need our Father’s embrace, just as Jesus did when he received His baptism of Love. However, we need not stand in the Jordan River to know our Father’s embrace. It is available to us right now where we are.
This beautifully written half-memoir, half-essay, explores the realities of Papa God’s love for you, your identity as His beloved child and heirs, and the transformation of your vision of yourself, others, and world events that this revelation of your place in the divine family brings.
Poignant personal reflections are woven artfully with metaphors, personal stories, and an eclectic smattering of quotes and movie references. You, too, are invited to reflect and discover your own divine encounter.
You will learn how to see through Heaven’s eyes—through the Father’s eyes—and that look of love will transform everything, including:
- God.
- Yourself.
- Other people.
- Your family.
- Your enemies.
- The end times.
Seeing Through Heaven’s Eyes is powerfully presented and will bless and free you to experience a deeper relationship with Father God.
The world, including most of the church, is working hard in order to find peace and rest. That’s why we see a constant cycle of restlessness around us. But we were designed to work from a place of rest, fully secure in our identity as children of God. This resting place is found in intimacy with the Father, where His family members experience complete acceptance and extravagant love.
The resting place is there, available from God anywhere, anytime
We are sons and daughters of a loving Father, not orphans trying to figure out who we are. We are called to reveal the true nature of God, and we cannot do that with an orphan mindset. When sons and daughters arise in the church, the world will begin to see the true nature of the Father and His family—a family that sees promises, not problems, and that reigns with Him!
Using his well-known illustration of the three chairs, Leif Hetland explores the four pillars of this resting place, addressing four crucial questions:
Identity: Who are you?
Intimacy: Where are you?
Inheritance: What do you have?
Destiny: What are you called to do?
The key to fulfilling your destiny is realizing the answers to each of these questions—in the order God designed for us.
This book is will help you experience everything God wants for you by finding a resting place for yourself and becoming a resting place for Him. It is about an entirely different way to see and live, a way that refreshes, restores, and brings life. It is an invitation into the fullness and abundance that empowers you to do what you were called to do—to reign with Him!
This is a book about receiving an upgrade in love and becoming an ambassador of love. Many believers know about the Father's love without experiencing His love for themselves. The world is waiting for a revelation of the sons and daughters of God who know His love. They need ambassadors of His kingdom to present His nature to them. Will you manifest His love to them? This is your invitation.
In this metaphorical and biblical journey, Leif Hetland shares a story based on a vision God gave him several years ago. It is a story that can transform our minds and reveal God's desire to bring His Supernatural Abundance to every part of our lives.
