Little Paranoias was my first read for 2020 & I feel like I'm ushering in some new, freaky energy for the new year. I'm into it. Can't wait to see what she writes next ....
WHAT I LIKED:
- A combination of flash fiction, poetry, and short stories, this collection was unique and disturbing. I loved it!
- Taylor's voice is vibrant and refreshing.
- With just a few pages, she creates realistic characters and tells a satisfying, frightening (or intriguing!) story. After I read the first story, I immediately fell in love with her work.
- Taylor really messed with my emotions in this collection. I went from heart break to sheer delight, and had a lot of fun along the way.
- Here are my favorite stories in this collection:
Weary Bones - a beautiful, heart wrenching story about loss
Hollow - a creepy story about a kid and a doll
Stick Figure Family - a most delightful, funny, and charming story about murder
Hearts are Just "Likes" - a sharp as nails commentary on social media

The collection's eclectic nature makes it likely most readers will both find things they like and dislike, but I think that's part of the fun of it. There's no telling what you'll get unless you try each.
You don't make a book written by Sonora Taylor wait.
You get 20 different awesomely written short tales. My favorite ones being " Stick figure family", "The note on the door", and "Hearts are just 'likes' "
All of the the stories were incredibly well written, they were fast paced and I never got bored reading it.
Y'all should pick this one up and you can be like me questioning stick famlies, and afraid of the outdoors.
