A typical Lifetime channel TV movie
Verified purchase
First, this wasn't a bad movie overall. This is your typical Lifetime channel movie, with decent acting and a contrived and silly plot. I'm not surprised Amazon Prime put this in for free. It wasn't a real surprise that the story stretched the realm of reality in the story. With it being a Lifetime TV movie, it was well shot, acting was good, and at least an effort to make it suspenseful was put forth. But in the first scene it is clear this was a TV movie from one of the more tame channels.
There is no nudity, no swearing and the actors didn't have any sort of edginess to them. Yet this wasn't a bad movie, just one that I would watch one time. It's not a complete waste of time however, it is a break from many of the crap we see on Prime, so it is good to see something with decent acting, direction, camera work and a plot, that was clear. (Even though the story wasn't that original or believable)
It's worth a watch, but only pay for it if you like soft TV movies.

To family viewers, there is some frontal nudity.
“Live Once Die Twice” felt like a made-for-TV movie, meaning that everything was okay. Some reviewers say it was for Lifetime. It makes senses. The location settings were nice, good camera work, okay dialog, decent story flow. The plot has some issues. Early on, why does Dugan help Nicole? He has no reason even to know her. It isn’t needed to introduce the danger she faces since she’s kidnapped right away. And are people really so foolish as depicted late in the movie? Spoiler here: Nicole is smart and tough all the way through, then she turns to putty in the hands of a man who has betrayed her, lied to her, and killed other people. I found her sudden flip-flop to be an awful and distracting screwup in the plot/writing. That cost a star. It’s not a bad movie but a long way from being a great movie. And I thought you needed a passport to enter Canada, and how did Mac get his gun through customs? Maybe it was easier when the movie was made.

An ok movie for a quick watch

This IS NOT a 13+ movie unless your ok with your 13+ child seeing frontal nudity. It's only in one scene but there is enough to qualify this movie for adults only. In fact the movie open up with a love scene that, although no nudity, the action is fairly intense. Ok, enough of that. All and all I give it 3 stars for it decent acting and plot line. The description for the movie pretty much says it all. This type of story has been done before so don't expect anything new but its ok for a quick watch.

Overall, an OK movie.

This movie was a bit predictable. The acting is OK, but did not seem to require a lot of effort because the writing and characters are simple and superficial. It does have a few political jabs thrown into the script, such as "This is what a country looks like with real gun control," which is funny, because the "climatic ending" involves a gun battle between 2 people that have an endless supply of ammo without having to reload. The ex-cop can't shoot straight despite having 30 years of law enforcement. Overall, 2 hot babes, unknowingly marry the same narcissistic, anti-social criminal, who is masterminding the theft of platinum, and then fakes death, tries to get away, but then is tracked down by wives. Not sure why this criminal mastermind would create a liability and complicate his plans by marrying 2 women. Seems to me that is he was so smart, why create ties, even if lies, when he wants to disappear after double crossing his criminal associates.

I Kept Waiting For It To Get Better

I liked Live Once, Die Twice. Nicole was a very interesting and resourceful character in a nasty situation. And she handles herself almost amazingly well all the way through. In the end she repeated her original mistake and that was sad to see. So for what it did not grow into or deliver this is really only a pretty average movie.

I got this as the first in recommendation row for what is similar to what I have already seen. It has my action and violence. It has the intense investigation. There is also the shooting that I like. Strange that it is on the water like the last movie that I watched; I had mentioned there too that I don't like to get into the water of an ocean or river or lake. Maybe that gives it an edge that occurs because of that preference. Thanks for getting me to watch something different.

Plot just seemed to get more absurd the farther I got into it.

A T&A adventure movie, if you're in the mood for that. I was wondering why it got such a high rating, and now see that it only has a few ratings. Not bad, hot chicks, but never felt it emotionally.
