Painful to Watch Which Makes It Sort of Fun....

It's a terrible movie, terrible acting, half the cops sound like they are from the Czech republic, Edward Furlong plays his usual, the troubled and misunderstood everydude dude. Micheal Madsen's irrational screaming, which looked like it actually spooked the other actors, was the highlight of the film. You can tell Michael revels in the career suicide he's committing in these low budget flicks he likely stars in for the free booze. Of course he is actually a great actor but he is not putting in a lot of effort here. I don't think it's a stretch to say his character in this movie is the worst hostage negotiator in human history. With all the irrational screaming, irrational characters, irrational plot lines and horrendously bad dialog, this movie was actually fun to watch. I gave it two stars for the so bad its almost good but not quite quality of the movie.

Terminator 2 is the only movie Furlong was acceptable in, and even now upon re-watching T2, he was still a pretty terrible actor. It's up to the rest of the cast and the director to make him a passable protagonist and no other film crew has been able to do that; Living and Dying is no exception.

I like 16:9 and 5.1. My preferential technical aspects. I like the violence. I like the shooting; quite adequate for me. There are lots of twists and turns. Totally entertaining and the story is not your normal bank robbery.

Living and Dying was filmed in Dallas/Fort Worth. The film abounds with great story, production, audio, sound engineering and fantastic Acting! (D/FW has SKILLS!) Jon Keeyes has outdone himself this time!! The storyline is great... it unfolds with several twists along the way. I've loved Jon's movies in the past such as American Nightmare and Suburban Nightmare, but this could be my favorite!!!! The audio commentary as well as the "Day in the Life of 'Living and Dying'" both added additional insight into the making of the movie, the motivation of the actors and what makes Jon tick!
