About Liz Fletcher
Liz has had a passion for art, creativity, and reading since she was a little girl. After graduating with a BA in Graphic Design and Fine Arts from The University of San Francisco, Liz decided she wanted to stop clocking into her predictable 9-5 pm job. After many business ideas, late nights, and too much coffee - Liz started Brave Kids Press Publishing. She started by publishing her first ten books featuring a brave little elephant named Louie. This series was inspired by navigating the whole new mom thing. After having her first child (1 of 3), Liz found it challenging to find books that promoted courage and bravery while transitioning through new childhood milestones (potty training, eating well, welcoming a new sibling, understanding new emotions, etc.). She hoped for her children to find their inner bravery to embrace change because it was fun, not because they were told they had to. Liz's book series has helped thousands of children worldwide, and she determined to continue to inspire for a lifetime. Through these powerful, rhythmic books, your child will learn to embrace their inner bravery and that they can overcome any challenge. Embracing our courage is especially important to Liz as she believes self-confidence at a young age paves the future for abundant opportunities, grit, and a growth mindset. Brave Kids Press publishes children's books about self-discovery, confidence, strength, kindness, individuality, grit, and advocacy. All of which are the true fabric of strong leaders that promote and fight for change and virtue.

Another Louie book that proved to be helpful. I'm the Potty Master is definitely very encouraging and helped our toddler potty train. He gets excited when we call him potty master. Louie does not make excuses for not going to pee in the potty; the author simply shows how diapers are slowing Louie down. Would highly recommend it.

A Big Kid Bed is Coming worked perfectly, thank you!!
This book was INCREDIBLE and worked absolutely perfectly for my 3-year-old boy/girl twins. Many books show a kid giving excuses for why they don’t want to be in a big kid bed, which a child can copy. In this book, the sweet elephant shows the kid all the fun things you can do in bed! I just added the book from this series with Louie eating veggies to my cart. I wish she wrote one for potty training. “Silly Louie” (as we lovingly call him) is a favorite in our house.
Before we transitioned my 2-year-old to a toddler bed, we bought multiple books to read to him about it. A Big Kid Bed is Coming is by far our favorite. Louie is a loveable character, and the rhyming is appealing for toddlers. It’s a cute story & goes over that he isn’t sleeping well in a crib & that mommy/daddy are building him a bed. He talks about how Louie is nervous, but with his “superhero powers,” he’s brave and gives it a try. Just overall, a cute story that hits all the important aspects of transitioning to a toddler bed.
We purchased this book in anticipation of our daughter going into her big kid's bed. She loves this book and requests it all the time. I love how it doesn’t talk about being “scary” to move to a big kid like several other books. It makes it an adventure instead and has a very positive message.
Congratulations! Looks like you're welcoming another baby!
There's a Baby in the House is the perfect gift for older siblings. Help your oldest know that the love in your heart is big enough for everyone and that many new and exciting adventures await with their new best friend.
Having a new baby is great!
I'm the older sibling you see.
My job is very important,
And no one can do it but me.
In the fourth book of its series, Louie is a super elephant who is always ready for adventure, but lately, he's been feeling a little lonely. Louie is told that a new baby sibling is coming and that changes everything! New adventures await, let's go!
With sweet rhymes and beautiful illustrations, this book inspires friendship, bravery, courage, and imagination.

We're expecting a new baby soon and I bought this book for our 3-year-old as I can tell he's a little anxious about the arrival of his new sister. This book is awesome! It illustrates how the baby and his sibling become great friends and adventure together for a lifetime. My son is now super excited to have a new best friend.

Help your child self-regulate their emotions. The Emotions Books: A Little Story About BIG Feelings teaches emotional control and how to effectively act when faced with overwhelming feelings or challenging circumstances.
Throughout this vibrant story, Louie, a brave little elephant, teaches children that when they experience big feelings, their body and mind are simply telling them something; perhaps a hug is needed or they need to take a break and breath.
Focusing on four primary emotions: anger, sadness, frustration, and happiness - children will learn to welcome their feelings and listen to them instead of impulsively reacting. Managing big emotions can help children act effectively and solve conflict independently while working their way back to a calm, happy state.
The Emotions Book: A Little Story About BIG Feelings is the 5th book in its series and follows the theme of helping children find their inner bravery by navigating change, transitions, and new feelings.
The 4 BIG Emotions:
Anger: An intense, heightened emotion can often be overwhelming to children and can lead to adverse reactions when not understanding the core reason why they feel this way. When in a fiery state, children need to learn to stop and breathe before reacting. Calming and self-soothing oneself is an essential first step.
Sadness: An emotional pain associated with feelings of loss, despair, grief, helplessness, and disappointment. Sadness can be especially hard for a child when they don't have comfort or understanding of why their feeling this way or that it's simply OK to feel sad sometimes.
Frustration: An emotional response to conflict or opposition. Frustration can often occur from being unable to solve a problem, experiencing a roadblock, or annoyance. Frustration in a child can often lead to anger and adverse reactions if one does not take caution. Stopping to take a break is often a great way to prevent irritation and pivot.
Happiness: An emotional state characterized by feelings of satisfaction, joy, and fulfillment. When a child is happy, they are often calm and ready to learn. Teaching children techniques like breathing, stopping, and realizing the core of their feelings is a critical way to get back to feeling happy.
Through the Brave Kid Press book series, your child will learn:
✓ The importance of trying something new.
✓ How to self-regulate BIG emotions.
✓ That bravery lies within and we can access it at any time.
✓ The importance and benefits of curiosity and being open-minded.
✓ Overcoming new challenges can often lead to even more fun and adventure!
✓ How to find security with change in a new environment.
✓ That sleep is essential for everyone and allows us to have more fun when we're awake.
✓ The importance of consistency. Grit and perseverance help challenges become easier with time.
✓ The incredible feeling of conquering hard things!
✓ That kindness always wins.

This book is INCREDIBLE and worked absolutely perfectly for my 3 and 5-year-olds. A lot of books show a kid giving excuses for why they don't want to eat their veggies, which a child can just copy (and most likely will!) In this book, the sweet elephant shows the reader all the amazing things veggies do for your body. My kids are honestly trying new veggies because of this book. My son is inhaling broccoli because it "..keeps his heart and muscles strong" just like Louie. I can't wait to buy her new book on potty training. Silly Louie (as we lovingly call him) is a favorite in our house that they want to read daily.

This book rules. My 5 and 7-year-old love it. I Can't Eat This Stuff teaches the importance of courage and trying something new through the adventures of Louie, the most adorable elephant. Louie has worked wonders for my kids as they are asking to try new veggies (and other healthy foods) because "its superhero fuel." I highly, HIGHLY recommend this book and many others by this author.

Mr. Orange crayon believes that he is the best color. He believes that every other crayon should look and color just like him. He wants all artwork and illustrations to be orange. "I'm the finest there is. Nobody else can compare!" He screams. But the other crayons don't agree and decide to come together to teach him a valuable lesson about the importance of unity, diversity, and belonging.
Will Mr. Orange listen to the other crayons?
