Battery life. The batteries last longer than the imprinted characters on the keyboard. I have had my current combo unit 2 years, and the battery charge window says I still have a full charge. I'm using Duracell batteries.
Mouse: I love the 'back/forward' keys on the side of the mouse. You won't ever have to use the back/forward arrows on IE or Firefox.
Durable: I have spilled multiple things on it, and it keeps on working.
Keyboard: Smooth, and easy to find keys/buttons frequently used.
The imprinted characters don't last long. So, if you don't have your keyboard layout memorized, you'll either have to keep replacing the entire unit, or, buy a character replacement stick-on kit. Mine is so worn out, the characters have been worn off, the space bar is now smooth, but at least the dents on "F" and "J" are still there to easily find "home row".
I kept the keyboard and purchased a new Logitec mouse, model #M310 , and the problem was solved. The problem was definitely in the #705 mouse which originally came with the keyboard
I HAD to come back and share what I figured out about this mouse. There is a button behind the scroll that allows you to change it from "Hyper" to "Normal" (with notches) which allows you to control the scroll. So happy I found this button hidden in plain sight..!
I bought this set to use at work, I do a lot of GIS mapping and work in Office products a lot. The keyboard works flawlessly and I really like it. However, the mouse.. It is WAY too sensitive. You can turn down the sensitivity, and I turned it all the way down, but I am still running into issues where even when I move the mouse the map I'm working in will zoom in or out because of the mouse's scroll. Even if I scroll to where I want and let my finger off of the scroll it will continue to scroll.. It is EXTREMELY frustrating.. I might end up buying a new mouse.. I like how it fits in my hand and no other issues other than the scroll.
Cons: Sometimes the keyboard takes forever to actually transmit the letters you are typing to your computer. On many occasions (including just now, which is what prompted me to write this review), I will start trying to type and nothing will transmit to my computer. Then eventually all of the letters will come out at once in a weird jumble, and then I am forced to delete it all and try to start the process over. This is incredibly annoying, especially since I am using this keyboard at work. I hate wasting time trying to get my keyboard to work. This was never a problem with my other keyboards. For this reason alone, I would not recommend this keyboard.
Top international reviews
Their other keyboards are pretty decent... but they're honetsly kind of sub par compared to their older keyboard designs.
The keys on the MK710 is very solid, soft enough to be on the comfortable side of typing. There isn't any hard clicking when the keys bottom out. The build quality is very solid for this keyboard.
The design, is supurb. It's way better than their other current keyboard models below this model.
The mouse is one of the most comfortable mice out there. The M705 is the same as the VX Revolution but with the new NANO RECEIVER. Arguably one of the best wireless mouse on the planet.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the MK710 and nothing else below if you want something solid but at the same time looking good,
I tried out one of the refurb keyboards from Deals24n7, the first set wasn't even refurbished.
It was just straight up used and cleaned up and resold because it had indications it was used.
They're refurb by a 3rd party so your lick is a hit or miss.
I tried the refurb MK710 this time and it was in very good condition. Lightly used.
At first the mouse felt very light and plasticky (cheap) but after adding batteries and using it for a bit, I got accustomed to it. It IS plastic like everything else in the world, but is of good quality; the free-wheeling scroll-wheel is great (little button to dis/engage free-wheeling), it spins freely by itself for quite a while, scrolls long pages or console output very quickly.. Cannot yet speak to long-term durability, but hoping it lasts.
LINUX users NOTE: if unifying receiver not detected or not working for you, or not showing any paired devices, ensure you are a member of PLUGDEV group on your Linux system. If that doesn't work, maybe your kernel is just too old.
Original review: We were having issues in our meetings rooms with the keyboard and mouse acting up intermittently. The IT dept couldn't help, so I ordered this. It works AMAZING! No regrets at all.
- Connection to keyboard and mouse is integrated into ONE bluetooth transmitter, so it frees up one more USB port on your PC
- Keyboard has solid build quality and ergonomic support for your wrist
- Impressive battery life
- A full range of shortcut keys can be found on the keyboard, making it very easy to maneuver between different tasks
- No backlight on the keyboard
El mouse es muy bueno y con excelentes funciones de uso.
El teclado traía un pequeño desperfecto en la parte vinil.
This current keyboard and mouse combo feels extremely cheap. I paid less than full price and it still feels too cheap for what I paid. Within a couple days the dongle failed. It appears the dongle has a production defect on the USB insert. Although not a major issue since I had several unifying receivers from other Logitech products; the failure was indicative of the cheap feel of the product in general.
I have never even considered another maker of mouses/keyboards up to now; but the quality of this set will have me shopping other brands the next time I need a mouse or keyboard. For all I know, other brands are equally cheap feeling, but I now have the impetus to find out.
