The book is fairly well organized, with each section of the country split out. It would have been nice if the guide maps at the beginning of each section overlapped a bit. I liked that highlights of each part of the country were included on the map page. With so many different things to see, it made it easier not to "miss" something good. Because we went clockwise around the Ring Road, I kept having to jump around the book but this is pretty unavoidable. I would not use the maps to navigate (I used the NG road map). The road quality varied greatly so be sure to consult another resource
(Google maps, road maps, online Iceland websites with road conditions) before planning a driving trip.
I thought the photos could have been much better; I did not find them to be particularly useful and didn't feel the quality was very good. This did not matter much.
On the whole, most of the information was up-to-date and accurate. I did use the index quite a bit and found that to be extremely important. This is a fine reference book, lightweight and easy to use.
P.S. Go to Iceland. It is amazing!

But there is no information within the book, which differs from any free advertisement available. The maps are as well nothing special and do not contain the relevant sightseeing locations.
I am bying Lonely plant, because I am an individual traveler and need good trips advice, in particularly with the sigthseeing specialties for Iceland. The book contains the rare minimum no secret spots, no maps of sightseeing spots (very superficial). Essentially, the book was useless and I picked up free maps of the internet and advertisement maps being freely available at the destination. Very dissapointed.
Very elaborate was the overnight staying and restaurant section, which I did not need. I urge lonely planet to update this book. At leats make a red dot on the provided maps to indicate special places.
