5.0 out of 5 stars The nightmare continues
By Donald McCullough on November 1, 2022
I don't leave reviews but I pre-ordered this book because it has been a long time coming. First of all, the art cover is spot on and impressive. Beautiful! The hardcover of the book is special too because it looks like it's made of fabric, a detail that represents Sally herself. The spine is gold foil, reflective, so beautiful. These tiny details make the black hardcover beautiful for a decor piece.
Second, The inside of the book is an amazing story that you will want to read every Halloween season. Without giving anything away, it picks up right where it left off through Sally's perspective. It gives you more of what you wanted to know from the movie and definitely left me satisfied and eager to know more. If there is a third book in the works I would definitely read.
I really hope that they animate this book because it is a well deserved sequel to the classic tale of Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas. Thank you to everyone who made this book possible for me and others to enjoy. Look forward to more. - love Jaclyn

4.0 out of 5 stars A really fun read for October
By jessica ford on October 26, 2022
I'm struggling with writing this review. This book is great & strange. But it's also a little annoying & boring.

It definitely has the feel of Tim Burton's the Nightmare Before Christmas. And I love Sally! So, I'm going to try to break this down.

Now that Jack and Sally are married, their scenes are very sweet and romantic. Which feels weird I think because I watched this original film as a kid, so to now have these more adult scenes is strange. But I also really liked them. (Side note, there's no inappropriate scenes, only kissing)

Which brings me to the other parts of the story which felt like middle grade storytelling. Sally's inner voice was a little repetitive and parts of the book were slow paced. The movie is also slow paced, so that didn't bother me.

The original idea of this sequel is brilliant. I loved learning so much about Sally. We get her full backstory and it's really interesting. We also get a new bad guy, the Sandman! And he is the exact amount of creepy that I can take.

So, overall, I really liked this and I'm happy that I picked it up to read this season. It's a perfect fall read.

*Just to note, there is some brief kissing between two men in chapter two.

3.0 out of 5 stars Edición defectuosa.

If you wanted to know how the story continues after the movie "Nightmare Before Christmas", this is the book you're looking for.
It tells the story of Sally when, due to her marriage with Jack Skellington, becomes Pumpkin Queen. She has to face a challenge in order to show herself she deserves to be Queen.

A beautiful book with a great sense of space and time that will capture you till the last page.
It is good for kids around the age of 12 and for adults.
