Unbelievable...A Blind Horse Competing in ANY Event, and we all know it is Impossible, Right?
Hang on a minute or 3.
I spent all of my Youth and a large part of my adult life working with Horses, and this is entirely Possible, and happens once in a while.
I spent a few years following Harness Racing Stables crisscrossing America, and have seen 3 Harness Race Horses that were totally Blind compete against "Sighted" Horses.
I've seen the Lose of course, but I've also seen them Win and Place "In The Money" on numerous occasions, at different Racetracks.
It's a matter of the Patience, Talent, Ability & Perseverance on the Trainer's part, and the Heart and confidence in the Trainer, Driver, or Rider that does the trick. Many Fail, but there will always be a Few Human & Horse combinations that will always prove the Naysayers Spectacularly Wrong.
Julie Benz is a True Beauty, and a Very Talented Actress.
I'd also add that there aren't many Actresses that measure up to Marsha Mason
The supporting ensemble cast, Cinematography were Excellent and there's just enough "Movie Magic" to keep this from being a Failed Schmaltzy Horse Opera and make it a good time for practically Any Movie Fan, especially those with Horse Crazy Kids.

Nice little horse story

I ordered this as a gift for a friend who loves horses. We used to ride together many years ago. I looked at it as I bought it used and wanted to check to see if it was o.k. This is a simple story with a couple of obvious plot flaws but who cares. It is pretty well acted and beautifully filmed with lots of horses. They didn't get carried away with things the bad guy did so that it is still palatable for the squeamish. As they say, no horses were hurt during the filming of this movie. The handling of the problems the woman had in early life that led her to the path she wound up on was well handled. The little girl could be more attractive and appealing but I guess she was someone's daughter. She was certainly adequate as an actress. The lead actress could have been better. Sort of a whiney irritating voice but an attractive woman. Why do jodhpurs make all women's hips look the size of Texas. Marsha Mason lifted the movie up to a very nice level. Altogether, a nice little horse story for kids of all ages. I'm 75 myself.

It's one of those feel good movies you hate to have end.
Great acting, great story believable.
When it was over you were left with such joy. How a woman pulled herself up by the boot straps, and well, I could go on and on.
You watch it and don't forget the Kleenex.

Loved this movie when we saw it on TV & wanted to add it to our home movie collection. Happy to find it at Amazon & appreciate the super prompt service. This movie is a great family one & especially if you love horses. But do be prepared with boxes of tissues as you will not get through it dry eyed whether it's the first or fiftieth time you watch it. Don't let that put you off because you WILL come away feeling wonderfully uplifted. It is definitely a "feel good" experience.

Rather than review this movie by telling the story about the movie my recommendation would be for everyone to see this movie to appreciate it. I first saw this movie on the Hallmark Channel and fell in love with the movie. I wasn't sure if this was an original movie from Hallmark until I happened to stumble upon it at Amazon and it was a movie I had to add to my collection. It is a heartwarming story with a wonderful ending. I would recommend this movie to anyone.

I remember when my youngest daughter who became a hunter jumper and dressage rider first saw this true story about the incredible horse and rider online. She called me right away and told me to watch it. I was happy to see that a movie has been made about it so every horse enthusiast can see it too. A good move for the whole family.
