From the Back Cover
Like every girl, Sarah Jakes dreamed of a life full of love, laughter, and happy endings. But her dreams changed dramatically when she became pregnant at age thirteen, a reality only compounded by the fact that her father, Bishop T.D. Jakes, was one of the most influential megachurch pastors in the nation. As a teen mom and a high-profile preacher's kid, her road was lonely. She was shunned at school, gossiped about at church. And a few years later, when a fairy-tale marriage ended in a spiral of hurt and rejection, she could have let her pain dictate her future.
Instead, she found herself surrounded by a God she'd given up on, crashing headlong with Him into a destiny she'd never dreamed of. Sarah's captivating story, unflinchingly honest and deeply vulnerable, is a vivid reminder that God can turn even the deepest pain into His perfection.
More than a memoir, Lost and Found offers hope and encouragement. Perhaps you, like Sarah, find yourself wandering the detours of life. Regardless of how lost you feel, you, too, can be found.

The book is written from the perspective as if everyone goes through the same struggles that she went through rather than owning her own story (using phrases like “we think” excessively).
She is way too verbose on certain things. Her excessive details on her experience in school as a small child and things she would do with her sister pretty much have nothing to do with the title or subject of the book and are boring.
I wanted to stop after the first page but forced myself to read since I paid for it. I skimmed through the boring unneccessary details of things like the exact birthdays of her and her sister and how they fought about how many minutes apart they are.
She missed a major opportunity to educate other women about what “high risk” condition she had, which she never named. She also did not explain the circumstances surrounding why she chose to have sex. This book leaves much to be desired. It does not inspire hope. You must be able to tell the full truth if you want to actually inspire hope in people. She tells just enough of her story to say that she told her story and then throws in a whole bunch of hodgepodge that has nothing to do with anything.
I really wanted to like this book because I saw her speaking about her experience in a video and she was very early Quinn and the way she told her story was very compelling. But this is so poorly written. Editing and flow is terrible.

My favourite part in this book is the part about parenting and I quote: "Standing doesn't mean you agree, it doesn't mean you think they're right, and it certainly doesn't mean that it was what you dreamed for them. Standing only means that you're willing to partner with the and find a way out." I could not have said it better myself! I would recommend this book to all.
