Lunchtime Chronicles: My, My Sweet Potato Pie Kindle Edition
After going through a bitter divorce that left me broken and angry at the world, I needed a fresh start. On a whim, I took the advice of my best friend, Tangy, and moved to the small country town of Leesbough, where she resides. The townspeople welcome me with their southern hospitality, which I wasn’t used to. I instantly fell in love with my new home and community. The only thing that was a mystery, was my elusive neighbor, Andrew Peterson, who lived down the dirt road from me. Tangy and others warned me not to interact with him because he’s known as the town recluse. However, when that handsome mountain of a man with a scruffy beard and long hair showed up on my doorstep holding a sweet potato pie, all of their warnings went out the window.
Yeah, I’ve been watching my sexy new neighbor since the day she moved in. I’m not a Peeping Tom! When she wears those short shorts and tank tops to tend to her garden, I’d be crazy to look away. I catch her staring in the direction of my place, but she can’t see me as I admire her from afar. I know the folks in town have told her to steer clear of me, and she should. When I caught a glimpse of her crying on her front porch, I wanted to do something to take the tears away. They say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, but I say the way to a woman’s, is with my sweet potato pie.

Sone women may have grown bitter and not been able or willing to recognize a good man, after the disrespect Bianca suffered, after losing her identity inside of a less than loving marriage. Her journey of self discovery was painful but filled with strength and vision. She was brave enough to go after a life she defined and let go of a relationship that did not build her up or define who she was.
They recognized in each other a fulfillment of what a loving and supportive relationship looked like, what partnership, and soul stirring lovecloked like, and they did not allow anything big or small interfere with that. She brought light and companionship, he brought love and sweet potato pie.
Bianca was starting over after divorcing her cheating husband Byron after ten years of marriage. When she first saw Mrs. Lovie's cottage she fell in love and moved in. Everyone warned her about her recluse next-door neighbor and landlord Andrew, and her first attempt at talking to him proved everyone right. But Andrew did something unexpected, he apologized and explained his behavior. Bianca was impressed that a man would apologize after admitting he was wrong and he could cook, plus he listened to her talk.
I just loved the declarations Andrew made to Bianca. This is one of my favorite quotes by him; “We are just right for each other. We found each other at the right time in our lives and I thank the good Lord above every day for that. You are the piece that makes my life whole. I would do any and everything to keep you happy, Bianca. I will be the light that brightens your darkest days and the shield that protects you from harm. You are irreplaceable to me. I love you, Bianca.” OOOOOO, that makes my heart flutter! LOL
I just loved Andrew. He was such a sweet troubled lonely soul. He fell in love with Bianca and was honest with her from the beginning. He was not a game player and he meant that. The town could talk about him if they wanted but he would not tolerate any disrespect or bad talk about Bianca. My heart melted when Andrew told Bianca about his dream of Mrs. Lovie. I truly believe that the physical body may be gone when someone dies, but love never does. Now he has Bianca in his life to keep him centered and all he had to do was apologize and bring her his sweet potato pie.
Bianca need a fresh start after her lying cheating ass husband leaves her, on their anniversary of all days! So she packs up her life for a fresh start in a small country town! And she meets the one she is to love and be loved in returned forever, Andrew. Andrew had a rough start. But thanks to Mrs Lovie, his momma’s best friend, helping him to live again and trust his heart, he found everything he needed with Bianca!!! Oh, and Rabid!!
This is a beautiful love story! A story of opening your heart to the possibility of love, and finding your TRUE soulmate!!!!
Thanks again Sonja B!!!! Happy Writing Sugahfoot 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I am a huge fan of this author’s work; she delivers 99.9% of the time. She delivered on time this time too. I am appreciative of how the author approaches and present issues or circumstances that many folks find offensive or just plain avoid. She is gentle, careful, and respectful.
This story just as sweet as the dessert in it’s title. You will fall in love with Andrew and his dog Rapid. He is a true southern gentleman as he goes to court his new tenant—he upfront and honest with what he wants. I fell in love with the story of him and his adopted mother.
I also like Bianca; sometimes, the most challenging thing is moving forward with the process. The author demonstrates her rediscovering herself and moving forward.
I recommend this read; I recommend Sonja B.’ work period.
