About M.G. Herron
M.G. Herron writes science fiction and fantasy stories for adrenaline junkies.
His books explore new worlds, futuristic technology, ancient mysteries, various apocalypses, and the vagaries of the human experience.
His characters have a sense of humor (except for the ones who don't). They stand up to strange alien monsters from other worlds...unless they slept through their alarm again.
Like ordinary people, Herron's heroes try to make the world a better place, and sometimes screw things up.
I mean, would it really be a normal week if Harrison didn't get stuck in a repeating time loop? Or if Caledonia forgets (again) to set her lasers to stun and accidentally brains someone in a bar brawl? (I really think she does it on purpose, the scoundrel).
New readers can try out a bunch of Herron's books and stories for free at www.mgherron.com.
You can also follow his blog there or find him on social media for more frequent updates.

Blog postA luminary of science fiction, and one of the most famous writers of the genre, Isaac Asimov was prolific.
He allegedly wrote 383 short stories, all of them published between 1939—when his career began at 19—and 1995, three years after his death.
Of those 383, only “nine stories were never to be sold and no longer exist.” They were early pieces of work and accompanied a series of memorable rejections. Asimov soon found his stride. “Since February 1941,” he wrote in his autobio3 months ago Read more -

Blog postPortals in sci-fi and fantasy One of the oldest and most beloved tropes in science fiction and fantasy is the portal story. It goes like this:

Endangered by an alien adversary
Archaeologist Eliana Fisk helped expose a false god and end his reign of terror.
Now, he’s coming for the people of Earth.
And he’s hungry for revenge.
When a secret organization tasked with the protection of the planet calls upon Eliana for her help, she gathers her courage to respond to the threat. Unfortunately, it looks like the key to defeating the ancient alien lies buried in the heart of her deepest fears.
Can she overcome her demons in time to save the people she loves most in the world?
The Ares Initiative is a fast-paced science fiction thriller with an edge of the fantastic—a pulse-pounding Hail Mary to save a planet from destruction, and an action-packed battle against a darkly persuasive adversary more powerful and dangerous than the people of Earth can comprehend.
Eliana Fisk is suffering debilitating panic attacks that paralyze and incapacitate her. Spending months stranded on an alien planet will do that to a person.
When a girl gets trapped in the tomb of an ancient Egyptian, the effort of trying to save her nearly pushes Eliana over the edge. She must overcome her own phobias to save the girl, or else she’ll become the reason they both get buried alive.
Set in M.G. Herron's Translocator universe, this sci-fi short story takes place between The Auriga Project and The Alien Element. Grab a seat and enjoy the adventure in Cairo!
