Waited a LONG time for digital download

I have been a longtime fan of M*A*S*H. I have owned numerous sets of the DVD's (as I wear them out). I was so excited to be able to purchase it digitally. I am so disappointed in the laugh track and no way to disable it. A REAL M*A*S*H fan can't tolerate it. I am disappointed and wish I could get my money back. I'm the idiot for buying a whole season, when I should have only got an episode. A HUGE thumbs DOWN!

Not in the same aspect ratio as the original show.

This is a review of the streaming HD from Amazon. The picture quality is excellent, significantly better than some DVDs of the show that I own. My complaint is that the the picture is full screen for a wide screen tv and to do that some of the top and or bottom of the picture is cut off. The editing is done very well, but there are some scenes where your lose something such as showing an empty plate when Trapper eats Col Blake's food. Ideally one should have the option of full screen or not, but at the least Amazon should say that the show is not being presented in the original format.

I'm embarrassed to admit this but I was not a big fan of this show when it first came out. Guess I was just too young and dumb. Now that I'm older and wiser (well, maybe just the older part...lol) I think I can honestly say this is classic TV at its absolute best. Nothing I write here can come close to giving this show the kudos and praise it deserves so I'll just say this...anyone out there aspiring to go into television; binge watch this show first to see exactly how it's supposed to be done.

T. Painter and no laughing allowed.

Oh the laugh track! I wish I had known about the laugh track!? Thank you T. painter for your review. MASH is such a wonderful, funny, classic medical humorous show but if even one laugh track happens, it ruins all the show for me! Only REAL fans would know what I mean! One laugh track makes me wish the show had never existed. T. Painter knows what I mean, he’s a true fan who knows how laugh tracks can destroy entire shows. God bless you T. Painter.

MASH, with a problem
Verified purchase
It's MASH, yes, which we all know and love, but I specifically ordered the collectors edition for a reason. I don't want to have to keep clicking each and every show to make it play. The other collectors series I have have that "Play all" button. But not this one. That gets it a star yanked. Simply because it's inconvenient. Esp when you are busy doing something, and you have to go back to click the next show when ur viewer can't do it for themselves. But yes, it is MASH, but keep in mind, this did NOT have a play all button.

M*A*S*H is a classic and has been one of my favorite shows for many years
Verified purchase
There is little I can add with regards to the series itself. M*A*S*H is a classic and has been one of my favorite shows for many years. Read the other 5-Star reviews. One feature I think the produces of the DVD could have added, which we see on seasons 5-11: I would very much like a "PLAY ALL" feature where we could watch all 8 episodes on 1 DVD without interruption - that is, watch all 8 episodes in sequence without constantly having to use the remote control on each and every episode. Other than that, no complaints.

Mash is a great family show, also helps teach about the history of our country.

Just love the series Mash! With the fighting so close the doctors still do a great job fixing these men up so they can continue to protect us on the home front. The actors do a great job with their sense of humor trying to keep the mood light during such hard times.I really like how they add their personal life to the stories, shows how hard it was to be away from their families while protecting our country. It’s a great show to enjoy with the family. Can’t wait to order Season 2.

Too silly
Verified purchase
Understand that this is a comedy, but the level of silliness is not by cup of tea! Some of the lines are funny, but some of the situations are ridiculous. For example, I am retired military and I can guarantee you that if a general walks into a room the folks don't (1) continue sitting, (2) talk sarcastic and belittling to the general and (3) ignore his orders. And it isn't funny when they do! Also, the commander is way too silly and stupid.
Over the top for me. Later seasons were are considerably better!
