The Real MacGyver!!!
Verified purchase
It’s great!!!! Love it and cannot wait for all the seasons.

I really don’t know what some of the complainers are talking about. They seem confused with the “remake” and the original. Nothing beats the real MacGyver. Nothing.

My question- where are the rest of the seasons? Get on with it.

Pretty amazing...
Verified purchase
I was absolutely surprised to see this even being released and I bought it as soon as I could. Here's how I see it:
Cons:
1. It asks for you to select the language (German, English, French) each and every time you put a disc in. I have hundreds of blu rays and this is the only one that does that. If there are any other ones released, it needs to be fixed.
2. There are a few scenes in various episodes where the flesh tones do not look realistic. These are rare but a few do exist.
3. The non-stop audio on the menu is annoying. Perhaps more personal taste than anything.
4. Extras of any sort would have been nice.

Pros:
1. Audio: Amazing. Nothing else to be said
2. Video: in almost all cases, stunning. I've seen these episodes over and over and what I see on these discs are amazing. I use a Sony Ultra HD UBP X7000 and I remain in awe of what I have seen.

So many blu rays I own look blah - the transfer just wasn't well done. Not here.

Buy this set, you won't be disappointed.

Like seeing an old friend you have not seen in years, but you got old and he didn't.

Like an old friend, Fun to see it decades later for the first time since it way back when. I keep thinking the high powered good and bad guys should be driving better cars, but then realizing that old sedan, station wagon, or car with a faux leather roof was the best they had in the good old days. Fun impractical MacGyverisms, many of which were examined by the Mythbusters. Scary how much detail they were not afraid to share back then on how to build a home-made b o m b in almost every episode!

Absolutely love MacGyver! Definitely in my top 10 tv shows ever. I hadn't ever watched MacGyver, and now I am in love. You quickly fall in love with his personality, heart and of course his insanely quick mind. He's the kind of friend we all want to have. Always coming to the rescue friends. Old and new. Jack Dalton, Penny Parker or a random stranger. One of the best shows ever!

but this is great as an adult too
Verified purchase
I might be biased because I watched this as a little kid, but this is great as an adult too. MacGyver inspired me to be a guy who could fix anything and be someone anyone could count on. Now as an adult who is a Master-Mechanic and radio-repair technician in the Army Guard I still love this show. Sure I know that not all of the tricks he does will work, but it is fun to watch.

A Great Start -
Verified purchase
This 'first season' was excellent - subsequent seasons had episodes both excellent and merely entertaining - but nonetheless the entire series has proven to be a real bargain - many episodes stand up to re-watching, and provide a fine lead-in to the brief but delightful 'Legend' series (trust me!).

MacGyver, Fun and adventure for everyone!
Verified purchase
Ever since I started watching MacGyver, I have enjoyed every season they had put out including any movie MacGyver put out as well. It's just so fascinating and fun to watch, just a great show full of enjoyment and adventure for all to watch, plus you can learn something since everything he did on the show can be done and were done by true teachers and scientists which I learned from a good friend many years ago. Very cool!

Beats the Revival!

Ha ing caught the new (2016) MacGyver, I decided to go back to the old. For me, no comparison. Briefly, the original has heart, humanity and wit. Richard Dean Anderson plays the inventive hero with the lightest touch of self-deprecation, which makes for a winning combination. The stunts are pretty impressive, especially considering the comparatively limited special effects of the day. The action of the plot gets me past any dated aspects (although I could do without dresses with shoulder pads). While not compulsively binging on this one, I'll probably stick with it for all six seasons. Definitely worth a trip back in time.
