What a lovely story. Emma and Kon and little Mickey are adorable. I really loved that this story was a second chance... And that both parties were working forward toward the same goal as they both grew. Lots of good communication, and I love that. Yes, adult content, but not as detailed as most. And I loved that they got their happily ever after.

It's a cat romance and as such follows LM's template - so no review of the 'story' :-D

Repetitive and boring in parts.

The overly cute kid, under five -which is not believable considering the words spouted . There is some mismatch in the timeine of the story, which distracts, although I have not bothered to actually pinpoint it.

LM trying to use today's slang lingo falls flat and is weird , as she obviously does not have a proper understanding of the usage. Stick to regular English please.

Am I disappointed? Not really, as LM is no longer a fav author . This was an impulse buy and it was passable.

This is the 2nd book in the series and it was pretty good. The h met the H in college and they had an affair, he told her about his marriage contract but she didn’t believe he would go through with it. He dumps her not knowing she is pregnant. 5 years later he runs into her and his son, the h was devastated by the H and has a hard time trusting him. I wished there was an epilogue.

They had been lovers years ago. But it ended when he admitted that he was going to marry another woman. After they parted she found out that she was pregnant. But lies were told to keep them apart. Now he is no longer engaged he wants to find her. But when they meet up he finds out that he has a son. Their courtship is very rocky. He needs to build up her trust in him if he wants more than to be a father to his son.

Doormat heroine and cheater hero

Not really a romance as the 'hero' only hooked up with the doormat because she had his son. He breaks up with the heroine and then goes about his life, sleeping with other women, etc. Meanwhile the doormat does not even date. Frankly, I would like to see both the hero and the heroine be faithful to each other while apart. I used to love Lucy Monroe's books - not anymore. This is the last time I will buy one of her books.

LM took the HP “secret baby” trope to a new and more mature level. Rather than an angry alpha male who threatens and bullies the heroine into submission, Kon is a man looking for forgiveness and a second chance. The story is quite lovely. I’m sure to read it again!
