Feeling he may have just jumped from the frying pan into the fire, Quintos is forced to build new strategic alliances with the Pylors. But to have their help and access to their ragtag fleet of warships, he’ll need to prove himself. He’ll need to embrace ruthless marauding to acquire a priceless gem onboard the luxury starliner Pecunious. Looming, though, is an epic battle with the Varapin elite Vanquishing Shadow Strike Force—a battle that could very well dictate who will emerge victorious in this war.
Yes, Gavin will no longer have US Space-Navy assets at his back, but he will have Hardy, the Symbios, and one eight-mile-long Gorvian technology warship called Oblivion.
Military Science Fiction at its Best
I read a lot of space opera scifi - Ken Lozito, BV Lason, Craig Alanson, and - yes - Mark Wayne McGinnis. Mark is my favorite. He blends the military forces, like the US Space Navy with great science fiction battles that make for pure entertainment. Thanks, Mark, for another winning scifi space opera. - Kelly W
The Action is Always Going
Again we find Captain Galvin Quintos fighting for the alliance, but this time without their backing. He has gone rogue, his old XO now Captain of her own ship has been ordered to find Quintos and bring him back to earth. But things go bad from the start for her. Quintos arrives at Haven hoping to get the right to start raiding ships from the head of this pirate plant. - BritM
Sensational reading, dramatic and captivating
I enjoy reading Mark's books; they are so life-like, realistic, and full of action. It’s possible to feel the action and drama unfold in front of you. Written with descriptive passion where it feels you are part of the action without being overly written.
I stumbled on Marks's creation and now am a total fan of his books. Start with the first in this series, The USS Hamilton Ironhold Station. Enjoy. - Malcolm S
Always a Good Read
When I see a new MWM book it goes right to the top of my pile as the next one to read. I'm so enjoying this series (the USS Hamilton Series) love the characters and the plots are very interesting and he keeps throwing new things in. A sudden ending but we are not left on a cliff! I hate cliffhangers. - Trudi
Following the exploits of Captain Quintos, now pirate Quintos we go on another thrill ride as he and his crew are battling the ghouls and the Grish. This is not just another nook about scifi military tactics, but an evolving story about fighting evil and doing it his way. Enjoy the ride, this is a great read.
Better than BV Larson
Love, Love, Love this author. With the USS Hamilton Series - this is Book 5, Starship Oblivion - Mark Wayne McGinnis continues this captivating science fiction space opera. I'm a huge fan. - Candice
USS Hamilton Book 5 / Starship Oblivion Sanctuary Outpost
A new ship, new refueling starbase, new planet, new letter of marque. And old friends reunited. A big old gem too. And what an ending! I sure hope there’s more to come.
This is one of the best military science books I’ve read in the past 10 years!
Great military scifi with multi-dimensional characters, creative plot twists, and a whole lot of action. Mark Wayne McGinnis delivers again with the USS Hamilton.- James Wright
If you like BV Larson, you’ll love MWM’s latest book - thanks for a fun, exciting read!
This author knows how to write science fiction with the right blend of humor and action. Thanks, Mark- PK
The USS Hamilton is a military space opera on steroids. Literally, could not put it down!
I really hope there are many sequels to the USS Hamilton. I have read all of MWM's books, starting with Scrapyard Ship and this one is my favorite.- Frank Harris
Great book - fun, entertaining, great characters, and adventurous action :)
5 stars. I don't generally read 1st person narrated books because, in my opinion, they tend to make the book drag. Fortunately, USS Hamilton: Ironhold Station is not one of those 1st person narrated books that drag. The hero (and narrator) is so engaging he pulls you into the story which is action-packed, well told, and has memorable characters - both human and alien. Quintos is the XO of the USS Hamilton who unexpectedly finds himself in the role of Captain. To say he's not that keen on the job is an understatement, but somehow he muddles through and finds that he is more capable than he thinks. What I liked about the book is the way in which the author uses Quintos to describe the future setting and technological aspects that lace the story. There is self-effacing humor about Quintos that engages the reader in the story's narrative development. Overall, I can honestly say my first excursion reading a Mark Wayne McGinnis book has been a good one and I am definitely looking forward to the next book :) - Catherine MacKay
Still another series from one fabulous writer
I thought that Scrapyard Ship, Star Watch, and Ship Wrecked - this author's previous series - was really neat and have them all. Along the way, he added a lot of other books and now this action series has the promise of being even better than all the rest. If you liked any of his previous books then sit back and read what this future brings. If this is your first try for Mark then you will be delighted and drawn in by his fantastic imagination coupled with his ability to put those dreams into words. Last line - Buy this book, you will be so happy you did.-J.M.

I love good science fiction and I've read many authors including BV Larson and Craig Alanson. Mark is the best. If you don't believe me, pick up Scrapyard Ship or Star Watch or Ship Wrecked and read them. The USS Hamilton is just as good, if not better than his earlier works.-KPM
Well-Written Space Opera
This is an enjoyable romp. The never say die crew on a sure be one-way mission grabbed me and never let go. I read it in one sitting. This was fun; not as much fun as sex with a black-haired woman or a wild child redhead in her early twenties.
After the recent near-destruction of the USS Hamilton, Captain Galvin Quintos has been lying low, getting the USS Jefferson ready for service. In the midst of refurbishing the vessel, he gets a call for help from his former XO, new starship captain Gail Pristy. The Varapin have lured the 9th Fleet into a devious trap, and it’s not long before Quintos has his orders to hurry to the rescue. But the Varapin have a colossal new warship—one that puts anything the US Space-Navy has to shame. Even after Quintos assembles a crew, he’ll still need to pull a few rabbits, along with a few Symbio Poths, out of a hat to have any chance of surviving the coming battle. And Quintos’ one last hope—reuniting with a past enemy—may prove as dangerous as fighting the Varapin themselves.
Great Military Science Fiction!
I have now read all four books in this series. I literally could not put them down, which meant it took me a while to go to sleep the last couple of weeks. I highly recommend these books. If you like BV Larson or Craig Alanson books you will like these. - Roger D.

Entertaining Military SciFi.
It’s a great story. Could hardly put it down. Already got number 2 and didn't put it down. All characters in the story are great but Hardy is the best. Looking for number 4. Fun Space Opera Science Fiction!
Honestly, this is the most fun I had reading a scifi book in a long time. Mind you I'm just a simple man with simple tastes though. It was a honest really fun read and I found myself sneaking away so I could see what was going to happen next. Needless to say as soon as I finished this book I order the second. Great job keep it up and I look forward to other works.

Absorbed in the book from beginning to end. The book started well, rose to heights and ended on a very good note.
Captain Galvin Quintos had returned home to Earth soon after liberating Ironhold Station from a ruthless band of Pylorian pirates. But the Grish had been waiting for his transport ship—an attack he barely survived. Now, three months later, he’s still recuperating within the walls of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Just today, Quintos has learned of a new intergalactic adversary—a highly advanced alien force, the Varapin – who are currently en route from the Andromeda Galaxy. Intel has it, these ghoulish-looking aliens are now aligned with the Grish, and together, they’re hell-bent on annihilating all humanity. Quintos, certain his crew has already moved on to other posts, and his ship, the USS Hamilton, surely is still in space dock with battle damage. He must figure out how to get back into the fight, and do so fast.

One of the best
All the way back to Larry Niven, and Heinlein, not to mention clancy.
The year is 2049, and we most certainly are not alone… A miraculous, life-enhancing microbe has been discovered on Mars and the race is on to bring the organism back to Earth. But failed physicist Jack Harding has his own reasons to get to Mars first—to save a dying, seven-year-old boy. All he must do to succeed is break the law—the law of gravity. To make the mission to Mars, Jack must perfect a ground-breaking anti-gravity technology and avoid being killed by the ruthless billionaire, Travis Locke, a man who has no qualms with breaking a few laws himself—even murder. The life of a young boy, one of five orphans entrusted to Jack’s care, hangs in the balance as Jack struggles between the man he once was and the man he hopes he can be again.
You won't regret reading this book.
You will find yourself on the edge of your seat once they leave Earth, and you won’t scootch back until you put the book down. You won’t regret reading HOVER. - Nancy W
Fascinating Concept and Story! I was given a copy of Hover as a gift and thoroughly enjoyed it. Science fiction space opera is one of my favorite genres to read and this story had some very original concepts. The tension between the characters kept me interested as the motley crew entered space in a race to save one of their sons and bring an amazing medical discovery back to Earth. The story is both fun and exciting. Enjoy!-Stuart Church

Star Watch, and the prequel (Scrapyard Ship) are totally unique. MWM is a genius. He clearly has his own style, with flashes of elements from other authors.
Really great action adventure scifi story
I read the first book from the Lending Library and loved it so much I bought this one immediately. The first book was outstanding and the second was nearly as good. I especially love it when a sequel is totally different from its predecessor. This is a very different book from the first but is just as enjoyable in its own way and while maybe not as "fun" as the first it is deeper and more meaningful and more "heartstring-pulling". I'm serious, I got kind of emotional at certain parts of the story. If you haven't read the first, you must. If you read the description and think it sounds kind of hokey and silly - don't stop, it is not, at all. It's a silly-sounding premise but it totally works. I commend the author for his unique creativity, his well-drawn characters, even and especially different levels of AI and totally dreamed up aliens who are absolutely nothing like humans but are still relatable. Please - read these two books.- RWHIRN

I hope someone realizes the captain of the fancy ship can marry them, ‘cause Daddy’s got a shotgun. Mark Wayne McGinnis delivers a fun, action, adventure syfy young adult science fiction book, that will entertain all ages.- Nancy W
Great adventure space opera sy fy book, glad some folks were digested, so to speak...lol Joe, what a character and hope he is in the crew for the next adventure on Earth. The Loth is up to be the big boss and I definitely want to see the group hug with his litter mates on Earth. Thanks for the GoodRead.- KC

I enjoyed the stories in all three books in the Ship Wrecked Series
I've been a true science fiction fan of the great writers for many decades. I also enjoy adventure stories and found all three of the books in this series to be a great combination of the two genres. I see much to like in Mr. Mark Wayne McGinnis ... his writing is exceptional and I look forward to reading more of his books (especially in this series, Ship Wreck, Stranded on an Alien World). Keep up the good work and terrific imagination. - JM

To Every species, there is a champion. I've enjoyed this 3 book series and look forward to the 4th (There had better be a 4th book!). That said, It is hard to put this series down as all of the other books this author has written! It is well written, well-edited, And Very engaging. I love the characters and look forward to their growth. - Amazon Customer

Ship Wrecked III / Fantastic Fun Syfy
Fast action sci-fi never a full moment with Cameron and his friends. Twists and turns and surprise's keep you wanting to turn the page in this ever-evolving series with Cameron Heather & Loth and all the other characters, plenty of action, never a dull moment this story is always shifting you in new directions a great book, thoroughly enjoyed it.
A wicked snowstorm had blown in from the north and the roads were a mess. Recently split from his one-time girlfriend, there was now nothing holding Cameron Decker here in the little backwater mountain town of Larksburg Stand. Time to get back to college, back to Stanford. Seeing a guy knee-deep in slush at the side of the road, he pulled to the curb and waved him over. The guy smacked his head getting in—knocked his watch cap askew. Only then did Cameron notice—noticed that the individual couldn’t possibly be human. Cameron decided to help his stranded passenger—a decision he’d soon come to regret. Along with his rust-bucket of a pickup truck, he was soon heading deep into space aboard an interstellar spacecraft. After the vessel crash-landed onto an alien world, he would now have to contend with a murderous droid and a slew of strange alien life forms. But it is the forty-five-foot tall killer beast—a Minal Loth—that will impact his life the most. Marooned, Cameron must keep his wits to survive long enough to find a way to return home—back to that little mountain town, and that girl, who he should never have left in the first place.
Ship Wrecked, Stranded on an Alien World / Fun, unique, entertaining science fiction
I was reading another book where an individual was stranded on another planet. Craving more of something like this I remembered seeing this title pop up a couple of times. Although my expectations were different. I found myself LOVING this book. I am really hoping the author writes more stories in this to make a series. If you're reading my review, if you write them I'll read them. Please turn shipwrecked into a series. I would definitely check out this author's other books. Especially after reading this fun read. As this is the 1st book of his that I have read I am looking forward to some more exciting science fiction stories.-Timothy Albert
Great Space Opera / Don't Miss This One!
One hell of a ride. Couldn’t put it down. Plenty of room for sequels, with unlimited adventures. This book will captivate any and all who want to go where no man has gone before. I gave it 5 stars because has everything needed to keep you actively wanting to know what will happen next. Tons of room to grow the crew into incredible creatures. I can’t wait to head out on a new adventure with Cam, Heather, and Alice.-Kindle Customer
Rollicking fine science fiction story that is superbly written!
This is a rollicking scifi fun tale that focuses on Cameron who helps a ship-wrecked alien, a good act that lands him aboard its spaceship with a rather demented droid that causes Cameron all sorts of trouble, even as his New York small hometown is being wrecked by a Loth creature that is an organic wrecking ball. His girlfriend Heather forms a second POV with solid, contemporaneous chapters. The action is nearly continuous, the alien galaxy layout is plausible and McGinnis' knowledge of animal behavior extends well beyond the mention of Konrad Lorenz. There is some nice solid science in several sections that I quite enjoyed. Most important is the fine third person POV narrative of Cameron, the scene shifts and the dynamic of being at risk and worried about Heather and Earth's survival. In one sense this is a fine 'small-town guy makes good' story. In another sense, it is a Robinson Crusoe exploration of an alien planet. And finally, it is a story about relationships, human and alien.
