Jack was a boy (a medical student from the wrong side of the tracks) and Val, well he was something else entirely.
The middle-aged Hollywood megastar appeared to be living a charmed life but a secret past, a multicultural history and messy divorce lead to a life of addiction.
Jack had secrets of his own. As an act of rebellion against his father, he put himself through college as an amateur porn star.
And that was how their paths crossed.
In the epic love story of two broken souls coming together to become something whole.
I walked outside to the passenger-pick up, with Val Kepler and the dozen or so paparazzi. I slouched forward, resting my head against the older man's shoulder while Val kept his arm around me. Looking every bit like a bisexual superhero megastar.
There was something about basking in the glow of his radiance as he smiled and waved at the cameras. Val's poise, his grace under fire and the fact that he appeared to want me as badly as I wanted him. My heart raced as we walked to the waiting limo.
Val made sure to hold me close, making a show of shielding my face as he opened the door. “They’re like a bunch of fucking seagulls.” He got in and closed the door, making sure to leave the window open. “Let’s give them something to squawk about.” Straddling my lap, he kissed my cheek, working his way down my neck. I couldn’t help but moan as he started to bite.
"Hi Jack!” shouted a female voice as the limo sped off. “Welcome to California!" Kat had been sitting in the driver's seat, well hidden from the cameras. Luckily, that was all she said before raising the privacy divider.
Val sat across two seats, spreading his legs. “Well that was fun. Can I offer you a drink?"
"It's a little too early for that."
"For water?" Val said with a smirk. He opened the armrest to reveal a hidden cooler filled with unlabeled bottles.
"I think I'd rather just catch up on some sleep."
Val patted his lap as if offering. "At least sit on this side, to get the sun out of your face."
There was, of course, no glare with the tinted windows, but I took the invitation. I laid across his lap, with my head on his thigh. The denim of his jeans felt soft, warm, comforting. I could feel his hand on the back of my neck, massaging me. "That feels nice.” I felt like a spoiled pet. And I wanted a belly rub. I reached for his hand, giving his fingers a squeeze. I guided him under my shirt inviting him, to explore my abs, and hips. My body was begging him to go lower.
Expanding the Ocean Prince Novella:
For Elena Rios, it's been five long years living in the Arizona heat. Uprooted from her island home, her life has changed from Disney princess to horror queen as her family is haunted by spirits of the past.
“What words convince a child to trust a sewer-dwelling clown?” The question asked, on a thirty second timer.
“We all float down here,” I said out loud to no one, “As far as I know, anyway.” I’d never been partial to horror movies. Especially since I’ve been living one for the past five years.
Glancing at the window I catch a glimpse of my reflection. “My name is Elena Rios, and my (current) husband is a demi-god, former cult leading messiah, and a self-taught pilot.
Creepy, I know.
You want to know what’s also creepy as all fuck? My lover’s company motto, “Sky Turtle Tours: We all fly up here.”
Seriously. And yes, I asked if he saw the movie about the clown. He claims he did not, but rather, that the slogan invites all walks of life to experience the beauty of the skies. This included our preschool-age son who adored his daddy more than anything (and anyone) hence why I was often left alone in the shop, bored out of my mind.

Noah looked so innocently beautiful as he blinked tears from his eyes. “I’ve been sick ever since I was fourteen. I chose to stop treatment when I was eighteen which is why I’m here.” He leaned on Juan-Palo’s shoulder as if looking for strength. “I’ve been in relationships with over a hundred people; nurses, patients, a few at the same time. But after the first few incidents of prison volunteer nurses getting transferred out of here, that’s when the rumors started.” Noah swallowed hard. His face filled with a look of shame. “People knew they needed to cover their own ass or risk being sent back to gen-pop with added time. So, I became the mentally ill sex addict who just can’t help himself. Some people have even accused me of giving out drugs. I’ve even gotten accused of assault. I mean f-, man.”
Juan-Palo put his arms around Noah, holding him close. “Not a word of it is true. Noah is a kind soul, someone who truly wants to make a difference with what time he has left.”
Through an academic acquaintance, he is introduced to Remy, new-age, holistic doctor. Remy Desilva has a colorful, emotional past, that molded him into the person he is.

Nobody ever imagines themselves as a victim. I certainly didn't. I admit I was kind of a cocky little shit so maybe I deserved to be here: half-naked in a swamp with a bullet in my chest. I think there was also a bullet in my head, either that or I cracked my skull on something while in the process of crawling out of my makeshift grave. "I am Army Master Sergeant Adam Severgine," I said out loud to no one. I needed to remain conscious, I needed to survive.
