Ron Ripley is a husband and father surviving in New England, a place which seems to be getting colder every day. He grew up across from a disturbingly large cemetery where he managed to scare himself every night before going to bed. Mostly because of the red lights that people put in front of the headstones. Those things are just plain creepy to a kid.
Ron enjoys writing horror, military history and driving through the small towns of New England with his family, collecting books and giving impromptu lectures on military history to his family, who enjoy ignoring him during those dreadful times.

💯 great, the authors served a great book. A rollercoaster that you don't know where are u at the end.

Great main characters, great story. A demon winning a battle but he doesn't expect Gray, he'll give the demon a run for it's money...

As the authors starting paragraph said: "A dark force is rising. And only Gray Brooks can sense its power…" And I can add "Not today Satan, Satan not today!

I borrowed this book with my Kindle unlimited subscription and I'm willingly leaving v this honest review. Wow great book great series it pulls you in and keeps you there. Grey is someone who is tougher than nails but caring at the same time. Were introduced to more people . I'm looking forward to more of this series I want to see what happens next. Excellent read

I think this is a great series. They added a new "monster" hunter this book. A young girl who is determined - and head strong! Gray and Juniper end up taking her under their wing rather than letting her go out and get killed. This story line was fascinating and kept me going to the end. I loved their "motley" family - including Sergeant Reeves who continues to make his ghost self-known. It is hard to put this book down and I mean that sincerely. I listened to it on Audible and absolutely loved it. Nothing negative to say at all. Enjoy this story.

In this book we pick up with Gray Brooks and Juniper about where we left them in Book 1. The pair have grown into a cohesive team - Gray the killer and Juniper the researcher an defacto agent. Monsters are still running amok in Chicago and Gray can't seem to catch a moment's rest. Things are about to get a lot stickier for him though. He rescues a young would-be monster hunter and then decides to mentor her so she stays alive. If that weren't problem enough, he is called upon to save a man's daughter who had an encounter with what is assumed to be a demon. People are being killed in a gruesome manner, so Gray and Juniper have their work cut out for them. And did I mention the rift between worlds that has just opened?
I like this series. It has a lot of interesting aspects - fun characters, paranormal creatures and lots of action. I'm already on to Book 3.

This second book in the series finds Gray Brooks continuing to hunt monsters. He and Juniper work together
To find them and get rid of them. Each monster is unique and Gray must study to
Determine how to kill them. In the second half, he takes on a young woman and trains her to do what he does.

As usual, started to read this book for an hour before going to sleep and as usual with ripleys books ended up reading through most of the night. Shame I've to wait for the last installment.
I don't know how he does it but in all his books you have this connection to the main characters, willing them on to be okay and feeling disappointed when you've finished all the books with your favourite characters in because you are left wanting know that they are okay. If you are wanting something completely new and different read the village books, if you want to feel a connection, read the Shane books. I can honestly say that I haven't read a book by Ron ripley that I wouldn't give 100% Thank you Mr ripley for getting me through nearly 2 years of lock down during the pandemic
