The blu ray isn't worth it.
Verified purchase
I'm sad to have to say that the blu ray is not worth purchasing in my opinion. To begin with, there is no improvement on the picture or sound (not that there needs to be because the DVD is just fine). The second thing is that while the screen ratio is supposed to be 1.85:1. It's not such thing, whereas the DVD has the proper ratio. If that isn't important to you, take your pick of the two. That's the only real difference between them as far as I can tell. That aside, the film is a hoot!

My grandkids loved it
Verified purchase
Of course I saw this movie years ago, but one weekend when my grandkids were visiting, I was searching for something for us to watch besides cartoons. The kids loved this movie and I still enjoy it.

Fun, entertaining movie.

The product arrived on time, as advertised, in good condition. The seller deserves a 5 star.
The is one of my favorite movies. I rate it similar to a modern day cartoon comparable in humor value to period-piece Princess Bride. The mask has magical properties bestowed by trickster Loki. Depending upon the personalty of the wearer it can turn a person into an invulnerable Looney Tunes character or a villain from a graphic novel. Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz are well cast, and there is a good story and script, all indications that director Chuck Russell did a good job pulling it all together.

One eat

The eat is that the Loki mask transforms the wearer into a capable ideal - you will buy that. When it was made this movie was an amazing gamble with yet to be star talent that paid off big time for the studio, the actors and the audience. It's really good.

I purchased this movie because why not?
This is a great family movie and Jim Carrey is in it.
Jim Carrey is the original master of comedy.
That family oriented comedy that I loved from the glorious 90s. I wanted my kids to enjoy this like I did many many times. The movie did not disappoint my kids loved it all you could hear was the laugh and giggles that only Carrey know how to give his fans. Nonetheless that night he won two more fans with this classic. Now moving unto Ace Ventura.

A movie where the star and character become one in the same.

Pure fun from beginning to end! Basically a human cartoon. Honestly, though I'm sure someone else could, I just can't imagine anyone other than Jim Carrey to play the title role. Well...perhaps with the one exception of "Discord".

Perfect Comic Book Casting at its Finest
Verified purchase
A wonderful fusion of comedy and comic book, the Mask absolutely holds up. Carrey was made for this performance and as expected - nails it. I would even say the integration of "animated" effects is underrated. It's not on the technical level of Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, but it absolutely works wonders in this story. If you need something light and fun, this will fit the bill.

Truly one of the greats.

Jim Carrey really performed with all of his heart for this movie.

It's almost strange when you realize this film is based on a comic book and doesn't follow the original source much at all.

But the fact that it strayed so far and still manages to work, is the mark of a good movie with even better actors/actresses.
