I thought this book was a tiny bit slow to get going at the start, but once it did I found that it moved along nicely. I enjoyed the plot and the history that was sprinkled in among the story.
This is a good start to a series and I'd certainly read more from this author. I especially love that these books are standalone novels and can be read in any order, with no cliffhangers. Worth the download!
I haven't read the series in order (oops), but each book can be read as a standalone.
Give this series a shot -- I think you'll enjoy it...
I loved the quirky small town characters—the high school friends, the elderly gang with their crazy hidden lives.
The mystery really kept me guessing—I thought it was different people at different times. and I loved how Mira used her unique observational smarts to unwind it. I want her to be my new BFF.
Also, OMG I loved all the small-town details. Lourey is a master with the fun observations. I would’ve snorted out my coffee if I’d been drinking any! I can’t wait to see what Mira gets up to next!
While the main character is not always admirable, you do tend to understand her. There are a few things that could have been better researched such as public information around wills. Overall, the book is well-written with decent pacing and has a few plot twists and turns that keep it interesting. I will give the next book in the series a chance.

There were a few surprises too, which kept the stoyline & pace interesting.
