The Meadows: Legacy of Darkness, Book 1 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
A decades-old murder. A blood-thirsty cult. A house full of spirits.
Scarlett DeHaven leaves Nashville behind for a new beginning in the Shenandoah Valley without memories of drug addiction and rehab. But after purchasing an abandoned house with a disturbing past in the hopes of transforming it into a luxury bed-and-breakfast, she experiences visions and voices.
Strangers appear, bearing cryptic warnings. And a tunnel is discovered underneath the house - one that was historically used for a local cult’s rituals.
It doesn’t take long for Scarlett to realize she is being targeted by violent spirits. Driven to the edge of despair, she vows to fight back, but she has no idea what she’s really battling. And her nightmare is just beginning.
From the author of Wildfell comes a gripping supernatural thriller in which the monsters may be vampires, demons, or flesh and blood. It is a nightmare that will make you believe it could easily happen to you.

The overall plot is fast-paced, interesting, and really REALLY creepy to read at night before bed! The characters are well developed. There are plenty of twists, turns, and surprises in the story. Especially with who turns out to be a member of "The Colony" - vicious vampire cult. I loved the scattered references to Dracula and Bram Stoker in the book.
The book wrapped up nicely yet there was something mysterious that happened at the very end that made me wonder if all the horror concerning the house was really over. I also noticed that this is "Volume 1" of the "Legacy of Darkness" series which made me wonder what London has in store for us next!
If you enjoy dark shadows and mysterious figures and the sensation of the hair rising along your neck and arms then you will enjoy this modern gothic ghost story. I’m looking forward to the sequel..
