Then to make matters worse Billy gets very ill & Dr. Judson Kent is mystified as to what to do. Billy keeps getting worse & finally because of his deep friendship with the Shoshone chief Two Ponies & the medicine man Black Otter Billy asks Cole to get them to help him.
Ends up Billy is cured by Black Otter but the local newspaper man, Michael Hatfield writes a piece on the cure which involved the magic waters of Medicine Creek.
The repercussions of the newspaper article start a stampede of people all over the country coming to sample the magic waters & this adds to the troubles for both lawmen.
I am convinced they definitely need to hire another deputy & also there is no way they pay these two dedicated lawmen enough. It seems with each book they have new challenges & are stretched way too thin. You would think that town would begin to settle down at some point.
But, I enjoyed another trip to Wind River & I'm glad there are still more books to take me back there again.
I recommend this series because it's entertaining, cleanly written & each story is different from the previous one even though you have the same setting & characters.
It is sad for me to think that I only have one more novel in this series to read... I can't wait for the endings, but it is sad when I read them too. I would suggest these books to anyone who loves great reading, especially western novels.
