This is not a full length or novella book, it’s essentially a book preview of every book in this series. You get pulled in with between 4-5 chapters of the book and then you get the link where to get it. The Amazon link to this book gives you the illusion it’s an actual book by reflecting a 4.99 price that’s marked down to a free purchase. I made it through two books before I realized they were all like this. The way they’re put together you think it’s linked short stories or epilogue style.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the writing overall. The characters are written where the men are intentionally cruel and not people you’d support. The women are written weakly with no personal strength. I was sticking it out thinking there might be a shift but I didn’t see any by the 4 or 5th chapter provided. I will also warn you, there may triggers for some people. The first book the father is an alcoholic and his daughters are verbally, emotionally, and physically abused. The second book about the son, reflects a man that knows he’s cruel but doesn’t care. He’s abusive using sex to control his fiancée through a weak interpretation of BDSM where he wants to cause intentional pain to make his fiancé break and cry. Again, because these are snippets, I can’t tell you how bad it is throughout. However, it was enough that I’m not entirely sure I’d seek the books to finish the story.

Even if the stories were well written, I’m not sure I plan to read these books or read anything by this author. Bait and switch is not something I support.

A quick catch up for those of us that were missing Magnus and Tinsley, and for those who haven't read Lessons In Sin, it's one heck of an introduction.
Magnus is hotter than I remember (and I do remember him scorching...) and Tinsley is just as feisty and unpredictable as ever. Throw them in the back of a car.... spontaneous combustion. I absolutely love these two together. Never a dull moment, from his past and business dealings, to her interactions with her family, to the sins they commit together, you'll love this saucy, spicy, quick read. I would love to have more from their world, I mean Tins does have a bunch of siblings :)

What an introduction to the debauchery that is Nick Hudson, I have a feeling we've only seen the tiniest of glimpses and I for one, cannot wait to peel back the layers and find out all the things Nick. From what we've seen so far, I think Lyriope is going to give him a run for his money. She's another one that we've only scratched the surface on, so many facets that we haven't even discovered yet, I think these two are going to be my new guilty pleasure.

Lyriope is the illegitimate daughter of Bryant Morelli the head of the Morelli family. Bryant Morelli refused to acknowledge Lyriope and she has been ignored all her life an outcast on the outside looking in. Nick’s power is knowledge, information, he has a very exclusive club Wonderland, where he hosts tea parties but only by personal invitation. Lyriope must find a way to leave the mansion unseen by the Russians who are looking for her but Maxim is covering the only exit, so she slips into an empty room, however, the room is not empty. Now read on. This tantalising short story shows great promise, it is part of a new holiday anthology Meet me Under the Mistletoe due out later this year. This intriguing short, introducing Lyriope and Nick certainly wetted my appetite for Alta’s next project King of Spades. Just the right amount of titillating spice to get the reader anticipating something hot, absorbing and entertaining to read. Excellent start

I have only read Giana's story so far - Baby It's Cold Outside. But I HAD to put a review up because it was everything I wanted in a short for Dante and Elena. I am a big fan of Giana's Lombardi world and Elena and Dante are my favourite Hero and heroine from Giana's repotoire.

The short was just that, a short and sexy story that managed to pack in everything that this power couple represent. They exude power, sex and a draw that just sucks me into their world. I finished up this story hot under the collar, because boy oh boy to Elena and Dante explode when they are together *fans myself* and intrigued by Tiernan who is the main character in Giana's upcoming novel Dangerous Temptations.

Do you read many anthologies? Admittedly, I don't. I usually only pick them up when they include one of only a few authors. Maria Luis bring one of those names. I'll read anything and everything that has Maria's name attached to it so I picked this up and enjoyed it so much. It was one of the first novella's where I found myself feeling fulfilled on completion. The story was packed full of emotion and angst, it was long enough that I felt I got enough detail on who the characters were and where their story was going after we left them and I didn't need more than that. It did its job perfectly.

This anthology is full of authors I love, Pam Goodwin, Amelia Wilde, and a couple author's I've been meaning to read for a while, Skye Warren, M Robinson, Jade West so this is perfect Christmas read for me. I think Holiday Romances are synonymous with cutesy Hallmark type reads and I love that this is full of steam and chemistry. I can't wait to dip back in.

I want to know more about Lyriope and Nick, they both have an intense and mysterious aura and I just wanted to know more about them. Both are strong, smart and powerful, I cannot wait to see what happens next.
