I wasn’t a huge fan of the writing overall. The characters are written where the men are intentionally cruel and not people you’d support. The women are written weakly with no personal strength. I was sticking it out thinking there might be a shift but I didn’t see any by the 4 or 5th chapter provided. I will also warn you, there may triggers for some people. The first book the father is an alcoholic and his daughters are verbally, emotionally, and physically abused. The second book about the son, reflects a man that knows he’s cruel but doesn’t care. He’s abusive using sex to control his fiancée through a weak interpretation of BDSM where he wants to cause intentional pain to make his fiancé break and cry. Again, because these are snippets, I can’t tell you how bad it is throughout. However, it was enough that I’m not entirely sure I’d seek the books to finish the story.
Even if the stories were well written, I’m not sure I plan to read these books or read anything by this author. Bait and switch is not something I support.
O, HOLY NIGHT by Pam Godwin
“She was my greatest gift on the holiest night. And I was her lessons in sin.”
Don’t miss Pam Godwin’s short novella O Holy Night -- a tasty morsel of holiday pleasure and wicked danger with something “extra naughty” for those kinky, age-gap LESSONS IN SIN lovers, Father Magnus and Tinsley. Where they go, I follow; and where Tinsley goes, trouble follows.
The short novella made me want to indulge in another face-fanning re-read of Lessons In Sin for a replay of the erotic hotness between Magnus and Tinsley. That couple is pure fire. Married and as perversely horny as ever, their pulse-pounding love hasn’t slowed down a lick. It’s that festive time of year with fancy parties, family issues, deals to be made, a pushy mother … oh, and someone wants sweet Tinsley dead. There are plenty of surprises and a cast of mostly familiar characters to solve this mystery, but it’s the hottest ex-priest hubby this side of carnal perfection who will do anything to protect his beloved wife that steals the show and makes me sweat. It all comes to a head with Tinsley as the belle of the ball where danger lurks, even as this couple’s eyes never stray far from each other in a night of revelry that neither will forget.
No one does visceral descriptions like PG. She puts me totally in the moment of emotion, reality and seductive, button-pushing sex. The clock is ticking and the hunt is on to wrap up this mystery in time for the lovers to meet under the mistletoe …
Also recommended are Jade West’s Away in Manager with a dishy tie-in to her book Heartless; Finn and Eva in Skye Warren’s Hallelujah; age-gap Jax and Sophie in M. Robinson’s All I Want For Christmas; older woman-younger man Cael and Eleanor in Katee Robert’s Last Christmas; and Scrooge-y boss Lee and employee Georgia in Sam Mariano’s Wrapped in Red. Oh, just treat yourself and indulge in every story. They’re worth it!
A quick catch up for those of us that were missing Magnus and Tinsley, and for those who haven't read Lessons In Sin, it's one heck of an introduction.
Magnus is hotter than I remember (and I do remember him scorching...) and Tinsley is just as feisty and unpredictable as ever. Throw them in the back of a car.... spontaneous combustion. I absolutely love these two together. Never a dull moment, from his past and business dealings, to her interactions with her family, to the sins they commit together, you'll love this saucy, spicy, quick read. I would love to have more from their world, I mean Tins does have a bunch of siblings :)
Silver Bells by Alta Hensley
What an introduction to the debauchery that is Nick Hudson, I have a feeling we've only seen the tiniest of glimpses and I for one, cannot wait to peel back the layers and find out all the things Nick. From what we've seen so far, I think Lyriope is going to give him a run for his money. She's another one that we've only scratched the surface on, so many facets that we haven't even discovered yet, I think these two are going to be my new guilty pleasure.

The short was just that, a short and sexy story that managed to pack in everything that this power couple represent. They exude power, sex and a draw that just sucks me into their world. I finished up this story hot under the collar, because boy oh boy to Elena and Dante explode when they are together *fans myself* and intrigued by Tiernan who is the main character in Giana's upcoming novel Dangerous Temptations.
This anthology is full of authors I love, Pam Goodwin, Amelia Wilde, and a couple author's I've been meaning to read for a while, Skye Warren, M Robinson, Jade West so this is perfect Christmas read for me. I think Holiday Romances are synonymous with cutesy Hallmark type reads and I love that this is full of steam and chemistry. I can't wait to dip back in.
My rating is 5/5.
This is a short snippet from a much deeper and intense read that will hopefully come soon.
I want to know more about Lyriope and Nick, they both have an intense and mysterious aura and I just wanted to know more about them. Both are strong, smart and powerful, I cannot wait to see what happens next.
Lyriope is in danger and she is about to make a deal with the devil to survive the night, can she handle Nick and his wonderland?
