This book is blunt, a shock, and exactly what I needed to wake up and see what men are really like and what they think about us.

Luckily I read this book previous to meeting a man at a concert. I normally wouldn't ask questions because I was raised that it isn't appropriate. But I asked a lot of questions, and he answered them. Found out on the 2nd date that he had a cocaine addiction, almost lost his job, owns nothing after working for a good company for 28 years, and now addicted to other things that drain his wallet, and has an STD.
He couldn't wait until the 3rd date because then we could go all the way! Who made up that rule? But it's in the book.

The book really helped me out. And I reread it alot and wrote key things down so I would remember.
The book made me realize that I'm pretty awesome, doing great, and I don't want a guy at all!
They just want to use us!

This book truly changed my love life in a way that no other book, seminar or workshop has. I was single for over a decade. About 3 months after reading this book, multiple guys were wanting to get serious with me and about 10 months after, I met a wonderful guy, and we're in a healthy, loving long-term relationship. Part of why I was single for so long was me and my issues (such as trust, abandonment, fear of divorce, daddy issues, etc). Part of why I was single was also due to living in major cities like DC & NYC, where the culture places career first, relationships 2nd or 3rd, and the pool of men were happy to stay single and unattached for as long as possible. I spent years working on myself trying to attract an amazing relationship - I had a lot of work to do, and I buckled down and did it. I think of this book as the final tipping point for me to develop into a person who can attract amazing relationships. This book is a bit of tough love, but it's so worth it because it pushes you to be honest with yourself about your behavior. It compares and contrasts two types of women - placeholders and game changers, and clearly shows what the behaviors are of these two types are. The book lays it out as simple as "Do This" or "Don't do This." If you read this book, and truly study it and make changes in your mindset and behavior, you will see results. I littlerally would read over certain chapter before going on dates and it was a huge help. As someone who has read almost every book under the sun about relationships & dating in addition to taking courses and working with private dating coaches, this book truly lays out the best content to make a real change and transformation in finding the love that you deserve.

I read this book for the first time about two and a half years ago, started to practice it, got mixed results, read it again, internalised some more, got a little better results and repeated until I met a man who has managed to rock my world and make all my girlfriends jealous for a bit more than a year now. He did test me in a variety of ways and I could have never ever ever ever gone through the first five or so dates being so self-confident, unbothered and enjoying myself in the process had I never had GL's book.

GL taught me everything that my parents never did and helped me find the peace of mind and confidence that I never thought I had. Through stumbling and a couple of failed attempts, little victories and a massive amount of self discovery I learnt to accept the amazing person that I was and commit to becoming the person I was always meant to be.

As for the men.. My younger self could have never imagined that some men absolutely love to spoil their women, granted, if you let them! There are no guarantees of anything in life but this experience has given me the confidence that I can attract and retain a man of that caliber - if not even better.

Update: a month after this review we got engaged and it’s been more than a year since we have been married.

I am generally a fan of harsh books and bluntness. However, this book is hard to read.
While I initially purchased this book due to the few truths written in the sample that I thought everyone needs to hear, such as “They didn’t stop making successful women after you.” It became difficult to read after a few chapters. It is full of vulgar and low-class slang.
Any suitable point the author might have is lost due to his lack of eloquence. Just because you know every four letter word doesn’t mean you need to use all of them. Similarly, you don’t need to create your own. He coined terms such as “Dicknotist” and “Ho tactics”.
The writing is distracting, and he talks in circles. The worst part about this is this book has solid messages that are impossible to get to due to this low-end writing.
Every time I’ve tried to get through it, I can barely read a page. Perhaps, I’m just not his demographic.

I needed to realize the reason that I wasn't getting what I wanted was because of my own fears. If you TRULY want to change and be in control of your own universe, this book can help get you there. HELP being the key word. This isn't for weak women (or men) that want a quick fix in their love life. It's a manual for the woman (or man) that wants the world but wasn't brave enough or knowledgeable enough to go out and take it. I was a Smart Ho for a long time, but I didn't realize the transition to Spartan required me to be fearless towards men I actually wanted instead of just marks. I was always ready to leave a man, but never asked myself why I got into those relationships in the first place, and it was because I wasn't dating correctly. Now I have learned and embraced. I'm on my Spartan path now and it feels incredible--but of course it does. It's my universe.

Don’t follow the dating advice where the author encourages women to make the first move and approach a guy she’s interested in if he isn’t noticing her. It’s not empowering and can’t possibly work. If you do that, the chase is over as the man will know he can get you even before the game has began. The way I see it, unless the man approaches you first, you’re forcing something to happen that simply wasn’t meant to happen.

I know the author is trying to empower women to be powerful beyond belief, but when it comes to relationships, the man has to be the aggressor, or he will never fall head over heels with you. He talks about not chasing men but approaching a man kills the chase he needs to fall in love madly.

The very first part of the book is AMAZING though, for that alone it deserves 5 stars, the rest I would take with a pinch of salt.

I purchased the book not because of relationship problems, every man I’ve dated seriously has always wanted to marry me, but I’m not ready for that kinda thing. Somehow I’m super confident with men, but in life in general and especially work I seem to lack assertiveness. Even though my colleagues think I’m confident, deep down I feel small and let things slide because I don’t want them to dislike me. To hell with that, now that I’m going to unleash my inner Spartan I’ll be unstoppable.

This is one of the best books out there on modern day Man-Woman relationships - in the top 2 in my opinion and I've read MANY! I know this guy won't be to everyone's taste - he pulls no punches and lays it all bare - but if you are sick and tired of treating men the way you'd like to be treated and getting nothing back you will read this and wise up! I disagree with the last reviewer who said G.I. Lambert doesn't like men or women; he is trying to encourage women to reclaim their power and enjoy their femininity rather than continue getting downtrodden and kicked to the kerb. Not all guys are as unevolved as the ones you'll meet on these pages but if you're so happy in love then why are you reading this book? If you aren't being treated the way you know you should be, if you're wasting precious hours of your life trying to figure out why he doesn't seem as interested in you as you are in him, then read this and arm yourself cookie! It's life changing!
