It's an uneasy first contact, there's light on the horizon and there are intrigues...
And of course there are slightly thick headed males who don't get hints (hopefully in the next book)...
Definitely recommended and I'm already looking forward to the next book - Jatouche !
Like the first book, most of the key players are the good guys, and the minor players are the "bad guys."
Much like the early days of Science Fiction, the core is the good vs. the bad.
It is a good read, and it is comforting because like Star Trek, we know that in the end the good guys will win it is just a question of how it happens and what goes wrong along the way.
Ad a special human empathy ability to make things even more interesting. A new race with its own special history makes for fantastic first contact reading without the usual war like overtones. I am sure all followers of Scott are longing for his next book and hopefully we don't have to wait too long.
Eventhough we are talking about the same universe as it makes reference to the part of the universe where the silverships are, this civilization develops in a completely different set of circumstances although the same premise applies.... a group of humans traveled to another part of the galaxy and due to certain circumstances they had to make due with what they had available and evolve from that. How the story is developed and how it absorbs you, is testament to Mr. Jucca’s skill with the provervial pen....
I can’t wait for the next one....

I love the potential of this story line and the character interactions are well crafted.
Looking forward to both Jatouche and Nua'll
