5.0 out of 5 stars Budget starter webcam
By Nathan Blaser(MorningStarGG) on June 8, 2020
This camera was purchased due to the ongoing pandemic and my need to as a business owner to be able to contact people over the internet.

I've been needing one for a while now and there are a lot of choices on Amazon. I was a bit overwhelmed. I came across this one and based on what I saw of the description I figured it would be a good "starter" camera.

It's a decent camera and for the price, it might be hard to beat. I was in a pinch and needed something fast so I decided on this one. Plugged it in and it was picked up by Windows 10 quickly and started working right away.

As you can see in my pictures it comes with a stand, I consider it a bonus as I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it is. The tripod allows you to not only place it on a regular surface but is the type that can be bent and placed on other objects and cling to them. It also has a clip on the side of the tripod that I assume could be used to secure it on other things too.

The packing isn't anything special, but it's not really important. The camera feels sturdy and seems to work as expected. It doesn't have a gold plated USB connector but at this price point, I wasn't expecting one. It's just an observation. I didn't even think about it while ordering and it won't affect the functionality anyhow.

I'm sure it'll hold up for as long as I continue to use it. I've started streaming so I'm not sure if/when I might upgrade. It's a simple, working cam.

The poster was a picture taken by the webcam. I'm sure if I spent the time to adjust and refocus the camera it'd be clearer.

Overall, if you're looking for a webcam on a budget this could be a good choice for you. If you're looking for a starter camera for your computer this could be a good choice as well. It fits both of those things for me. It does the job and that's what's important.

1.0 out of 5 stars Use at your own risk!
By Jeff on June 24, 2020
I was desperate for a webcam for work, decided to go with a cheaper brand webcam to get the job done while the Logitech ones are price gauged/Out of stock. Do not use this product, here's why:

1. The camera came in its own sealed box, however, it was obviously not new. The box has a product label (assuming from Amazon) that says 'NEW', but again, this product was not sent to me new; see the next point.

2. It had scratches all over the front, and no AOOZI on the front. This tells me that this was a used product and quite possibly, not even the advertised webcam.

3. Plug and play worked only in a usb 3.0 slot. Not a big deal, but to get the device working properly, I had to shuffle around my usb devices for a 3.0 port.

If you're still considering buying this, maybe this point will change your mind:

4. The device installed its drivers normally, but I noticed it installed an RNDIS driver. This made me suspicious so I analyzed my network traffic while the camera was activated. I found that the device was sending TCP packets (internet data) to an IP address in Chongqin. I wish I were joking.

Just to reassure you that this is the case, I checked my traffic before and after plugging the camera in again, same result. This device was clearly communicating with something outside of my network.

TL:dr
This webcam is garbage, do not buy. This webcam is using a remote messaging protocol to send your data overseas. I've probably been compromised plugging this into my computer, use at your own risk! However, it does have a nice picture so if you don't mind being spied on, this will get the job done.
