Two points to remember:
The keyboard is coded at the factory to the specific mouse that's in the box. Great for easy setup and security, but IF YOU LOSE THERE MOUSE THE KEYBOARD IS USELESS. There is no realistic way around this.
Second- the Escape key is a tiny hard to find thing and will mock you as you search for it in your angriest of moments. Fear not, the mouse still works fine after you put the keyboard on the garbage disposal. (but the keyboard is not replaceable, soooo you would do well to see if someone only needs a mouse and start from scratch after giving the mouse to someone in need)
I like to relax 15 feet away from my laptop and big screen TV to watch streaming shows. The mouse has great range for that distance, allowing me to fast forward and pause without dropping out.
I would buy the bluetooth model though - the usb port it takes can be annoying, but that is on me!
For all day use the Microsoft Wireless Desktop 850 is great!
