This was a pleasant read and I liked the fast paced story and that it was almost kind of like a prequel in that it establishes January’s situation, introduces the characters who will be in her new life and explores her journey to getting into Blackburn Academy, which I assume will be the setting for the next book in the series. I liked January and Justin’s back and forth, but they don’t spend a ton of time together on page to really have me feel like their declarations of love are fully justified, though I felt it way more than in some other books I’ve read the last couple of years. This definitely wasn’t what I would classify as a bully romance and the only reason that even matters is because the subtitle indicates it is one so I went into it expecting something else. I definitely enjoyed the book and look forward to what happens next for January at Blackburn.
