NBC Cancelled "Midnight, Texas" --Let's Find It a New Home

I was shocked to learn that NBC had cancelled "Midnight Texas". I hope that one of the streaming services [ Amazon Prime, Neflix, and Hulu ] will add this show to their streaming service. This show is worth more than just two seasons!

Remember Charmed with the cheesy fx and bland solution to killing a demon? I still watch that show and I love it. Welcome back to the world of southern vampire with Midnight Texas. You can tell the budget isnt as grand as True Blood, but I'll take it. It's easy to follow the story and get involved. I was really glad season 2 came out. With the days of on demand/streaming, it's hard to tell if your favorite show will return or not. (RIP Scream Queens) so I was happy to see it.

As usual they stayed on path with the book for the first season and just did their own thing with season 2. I get it and look forward to how they will introduce characters that failed to join the cast of True Blood. I have my eyes on Rev.

If you are familiar with the world of True Blood, well this is it's flirty little sister that showers in her underwear.

Excellent show!

This is my favorite genre of tv shows! It ranks right up there with Supernatural and Grimm. The characters are all sexy and unique and the episodes are exciting! I think their acting has definitely improved in the second season but the first season was just as enjoyable. A fun night of tv! I hope NBC doesn’t cancel it, these networks are so quick to cancel new shows it’s almost not worth taking time to get involved in a series, so NBC don’t cancel the show!!

Defective area on 2nd disc Plus this movie had little to do with the books.

Having read the Midnight, Texas Trilogy several times, I was excited to buy the set of 2 seasons. It was the worst adaptation I can remember of this type of translation of book to film. The subtle nuances the books explored in the world of the normal with the supernatural, and relationships explored were almost entirely ignored in the films. The references to Sooky Stackhouse were missing, plus many of the really interesting characters such as father of Manfred. Technically the 2nd disc of the set had 2 areas that were miss recorded and had to be slowed down and retracted to see what happened in those 2 spots. Its past the return time so no way to return the movie. Buyer beware.

Like the series just fine. It is filmed here in my town. Dialog track includes a lot of different accents and is often muffled by the action. Hard for me to tell what is going on without Closed Captioning. What would it have cost to include this for everyone who needs it.

Re: Cancellation. Netflix just bought the New Mexico studio where Midnight, TX is produced. That means it would be a no brainer for them to pick up the show and carry on..

I am a huge fan of the books this show is based upon, but the second season of MT leaves much to be desired. The storyline is rushed and is quite implausible at times. I realize artistic license is taken and the plots altered for time and medium, but it seems like the cast is phoning it in and I can’t connect with any of them. I think they could have followed the books a bit more closely with better results. I only hope that it improves before the last episode or I fear it will be the last season.

Supernatural Soap Opera
Verified purchase
I'm upset. What started with a great premise with great characters in season one, devolved into a terrible soap opera. It would have been so easy to make every "major" character flaw/break into it's own season, make it easily palatable, but no. They had to go and do it all at once. This is the same crap they pulled with true blood. They made a good show into a supernatural jerry springer. I cant even finish the season. No wonder you have to buy it full price before getting to watch it.

After reading the books I was thrilled to see that they were making a show called Midnight, Texas and even happier that it is in its 2nd season. It is true to the books although slightly changed. I am hoping the series continues.
