Meet January Jaxson. Divorced and living back in Moonshadow Bay, she is finding herself again after her marriage went belly up and she came home with nothing but what she could gather. With her life in tatters, she finds a job at Conjure Ink, a paranormal investigation business and finds herself intrigued by the different cases she gets to check out and is enjoying making new friends with her coworkers. She also finds out the spooky case she is checking out is more than she ever imagined as spirits are up in arms and determined to hurt people. Add in a djinn who is now her houseguest for the moment and another small mystery to solve, well January has her hands full trying to figure things out before danger mounts and she provably bites the dust. I just adore January and find her extremely relatable. She is at times tough, tender, assertive and insecure. She is flawed but that is what makes her, in my opinion, so much fun to read and enjoy in MOONLIGHT WEB. All the characters are multidimensional and for me, January is the star of the show by far. Add in her relationships with family, friends, and lovers then you find a well-rounded woman who is finding herself again and that right there calls to me in so many ways. With this second book we see more of the strength that is inside of January as well as her connections to several people deepen and grow. Ms. Galenorn is a master at creating diverse, unique characters that fairly brim to life and step off the pages.
MIDNIGHT WEB delivers an action-packed ride from start to finish and lots of twists even I didn’t see coming. This is an author who knows instinctively how to captivate and enthrall her readers, so much so that they need more after finishing the book. I know I did, and I can’t wait for the next book in the series to be out in April though I want it now. So, if you enjoy an older main character that can kick butt and is soft on kittens, then this series is for you. I am really looking forward to seeing where the author goes in this new series as it is definitely hitting all my love buttons with each book.
This is a good book, but I still wish the love interest, Killian, was a stronger character. He could be missing from the story entirely and it wouldn't really be different.

Make no mistake, women and witches over forty aren't to be trifled with, as they come with life experience and wisdom!
What a powerhouse of a book! I loved seeing January Jaxson 's character grow, as well as Killian, Ari, Teran, and Rowan. I also was thrilled with the newest additions.
This is a series that I cannot wait to read the next book... It's that fantastic!
Well done, Ms. Galenorn, on yet another outstanding book!

In this book, January is approaching her 41st birthday and having realised her life is so much better now that it was this time last year, decides to cast a wishcraft ritual with her best friend Ari. Only copious amounts of drink and food make her wish for things that had interesting consequences.
Throw in a djinn, a large group of malevolent ghosts for a very scary case, lots of unwanted male attention and repeated pestering from her ex husband, January realises that her wishcraft may not have been the right idea especially when not sober! With the snow piling up, even the trip into town becomes incredibly hazardous, but January has to do what she can to help those who need it.
A few secrets were revealed in this one as well as lots of relationship growth for both January and Ari. I am really liking how January is growing magically, spiritually and emotionally in this series so far. Her ex held her back from everything she was and everything she should be and I love how she can now be who and what she wants to be, guiding by friends and family too.
Straight onto book 3 now!
We get to know a little more about the djinn that is hanging out in January's home. He does something that is surprising for a djinn and I hope he's around in future books even when he's technically free to leave. We are audience to the antics of her newly acquired furry children, as mischevious as any kitten is prone to be. One is her familiar so it will be interesting to see how this cat will be different than her normal sibling. I hope this author never ditches her habit of including cats in her stories.
She faces new challenges in the form of some vicious ghosts and even shadowmen, but this time the problem is not in an asylum. She is getting her magical groove back slowly but surely. In this book, January learns a little more about her family history and is shocked at one thing in particular. She is feeling more like herself and is discovering a power she didn't know she had. She's going to be one scary witch when she grows into her powers.
The female characters continue to be strong and the story kept me turning the pages. I was kept up past my bedtime, which is an inherent risk when you read Yasmine Galenorn's books. I'm looking forward to the next book and all books in this series - I hope there are many more to come.i encourage you to read the first book in the series and to check out her other series/books.
A drunken Birthday ritual goes awry, and her wishes ,
all three are answered, with little twist added.
Then there are the ghost haunting a Bar and restaurant.
Scary stuff. And family secrets are revealed. Good read
