Top Drawer mystery series

Great mystery series. Very tongue-in-cheek. It is almost humorous at times with John Nettles as the lead. He was great in his role as were his co-horts.

It is always fun to see another murder in Midsomer. One has to wonder how so many murders occur in such a small area. I would think that (if real) Midsomer would be a dreadful place to live as one would be wondering when someone would be coming at you in the middle of the night with sheers or knives or some blunt instrument of death. The most interesting episodes have been those where Mrs. Barnaby joins in the act. The humor and bantering back and forth always lent a bit of color to the dark and dreary subject of death in the dark of night.

I love it when there are plays on words or situations.

The best partner Barnaby had was DS Jones. Great side-kick with a constant sense of "is this really all happening again?" in his eyes and on his face.

It will be interesting to see the episodes following Nettles' exit from the show. I am in Season 13 and have seen many of the older seasons a few times on our local PBS station.

Can't go wrong with any season of this British classic whodunit.

This is one of my a all time favorite shows . I have watched each season many times, and own some episodes. I watch it on the Acorn added subscription. Even though I know all of the plots, I still prefer watching this series to anything on American T V now. The violence is usually off camera, no vulgar language, wide variety of good character actors as well as the basic cast. It is fun to see actors I have seen in other shows in this as guest victims or killer's !

Britbox subscription is worthless

I subscribed to Britbox so this video should have been included. However, Amazon charged me anyway, for the individual video. The Britbox subscription was a waste of money. When I complained, i got an Amazon rep who could not speak English. Very frustrating.

Great entertainment if you like to solve puzzles

entertaining and thought provoking who did it. The writers of the series are honest and give clues but it requires focused watching to figure out the culprits. Conclusions can be amazing if you haven't carefully focused on the storyline. Not much blood and gore, but almost in the line of Agatha Christie.
Not for the spatter and zombie fan, but more an intellectual exercise for a pleasant evening.

A sweet farewell
Verified purchase
Of course this reviewer gives Fit for Murder five stars! It is, after all, the beloved John Nettles' last appearance as DCI Tom Barnaby. There are many poignant, touching and funny moments in this episode befitting a fond farewell, but this part of the story is also skillfully woven into a mystery that does not disappoint. All in all, a very good entry in the Midsomer Murders series. Loyal viewers are given the opportunity to spend quality time with Tom and his devoted wife Joyce, and the closing scenes incorporate all our favorite characters, bringing things to a satisfying conclusion as we join them in bidding Tom and his family adieu. We also get to meet Tom's replacement, his cousin DCI John Barnaby, in the last few minutes of the show. I waited a long time to see the last Nettles mystery and it is well worth the price of this video-on-demand feature.

A new Barnaby, the same picturesque setting and a dog to fall in love with
Verified purchase
The setting and the characters have kept this series going for a long time. In season 13, John Nettles (Tom Barnaby) hands over the reigns to his cousin John Barnaby---allowing for a smooth transition in the series. The new Barnaby has an adorable dog---I'd watch this just to see what the dog does in each episode.

Great series as expected, and I thought I would not like the new character, BUT, I will like him. I really liked the interaction between the characters.

Also, am anxious to see more of Bosch, when can we expect him?????
