Sleazy marketing
So, I pay for Acorn TV and watch 19 seasons of this show
Get to Season 20 and its IMDb TV and a boat load of commercials
Very sleazy Amazon
Guess what?
Acorn TV canceled, Midsomer Murders, canceled

update.. My Roku player offers Acorn TV at the same price Amazon charges
and MidSomer Murders Season 20 and 21 are available minus the commercials

Fed up with Commercials in my prime videos.
I have had prime for a number of years. Started a new Episode of Midsummers episode 20 and now I’m getting commercials and with my prime videos that’s not supposed to happen and if it keeps up I too am going to close out my prime account I don’t even need Amazon because I can go to the store we’re open here in Florida and go to Hulu. Do I need to cancel my BritBox and other stuff that I have through prime??

You can’t get an answer from anyone.

Midwinter rip off
Midwinter rip off - ok – Midsomer Murders, Series 20 onwards now with ads, yes, I see via IMDBTV, but hold on a minute. I have an Acorn TV subscription via Amazon –
Midsomer Murders is still available on Acorn TV minus Ads – so Amazon is forcing me to watch ads on it’s “free” IMDBTV set up but I’m paying for Acorn TV as well.
Oh I don’t think so Amazon.
My subscription is $5.99 – the same as with Acorn TV direct on my Roku – except they are offering a year’s membership for 10 months –
Well, there’s a no brainer, cheaper and no ads – and subscription via Amazon cancelled -

Why am I paying for commercials? CANCELLED
I cancelled Amazon Prime Britbox this evening and bought stand alone Britbox for the same price. I have to use my Roku player now (no biggie) but there are NO COMMERCIALS! I love Midsomer Murders but was shocked to see all these mandatory commercials that were locked for fast forwarding. I found I could get the SAME Britbox for the SAME price by using my Roku and no commercials at all. I cancelled my Amazon Britbox faster than you can say jackrabbit! Bad move, Amazon. I'm ashamed of you!
PS - I'd give Midsomer 5 stars but the commercials bumped it down to 1 star so I averaged them and gave 'em 3. I do like the show. A lot!

Commercials ruin viewing experience
Commercials starting with season 20? Why, I'm paying for streaming. Also, the series has changed from a lower key country mystery series, to the newer, louder, in your face mess.

Old series great, new is sucky.
I loved the series with Tom and Troy, but not the recent ones with his cousin, or whatever that connection is. I remember him as being a rather pervy gardener in one of the original episodes and it sticks. They just don't seem to be oriented around average village life, anymore. It's just boring

Was good at first
Was good varied show when John Nettles was lead actor. Then it started getting weird, not conservative friendly. We stopped watching when it no longer matched our values. After all, we are free to choose, right?

A favorite series
These are very well done with great acting. They also have varied plots and intriguing writing. It certainly makes me reluctant to live in a small town in the UK though - murders and more murders. :)
