As you learn the exercises that make up the MBX-12 routine, you'll develop an understanding of the mindfulness practice principles of attention, centering and release. Sang H. Kim introduces the movements of MBX with step-by-step practice guidance, focal points, self-assessment criteria, wellness applications and detailed explanations of how mindful movement influences your inner energy flow. You'll also learn 13 MBX Mudras, symbolic hand movements that activate the 6 meridians in the hand and affect energy flow across the body.
Throughout the book, short readings introduce you to the four pillars of energy transformation: mindfulness, movement, breath, and meridians. For experienced mind-body practitioners, MBX-12 is an excellent supplement to other mindful movement practice such as Yoga, Taichi, and Qigong. MBX-12 integrates your moving body with your breath, redirects energy flow along the 12 meridians, and unites the mind with all in the present.

About the Author
He has also created over 200 instructional video programs on those subjects which are available through Amazon Instant Video.
After 30 years of teaching martial arts for soldiers, police, civilians, Olympians, inner-city youth, business executives, and international organizations, he returned to academia to conduct clinical research on the effects of mindful movement and deep breathing (MBX).

Dr. Kim has presented his findings in various national and international scientific conferences. His research results were published in the July 2013 issue of the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, and featured in CBS News, Huffington Post, Fox News, and others.

The author provides the reader with an in depth exploration of how to correctly do each movement, a self-assessment, and what to expect after the movements are completed. His book also includes short chapters after each BMX movement that highlights many other aspects to consider and learn which will enrich ones understanding of the material. One critique that I have about the book is how it is organized. I found myself constantly jumping from one chapter to another to try to make connections between the text and gain an understanding of the authors intent. There is much to learn and understand about Ki and what is needed to do to achieve balance and maintain good health.
This book helped me to continue to explore how to find and sustain a healthy balance between the demands of family, leisure, work, exercise, friends, learning, and more. I believe that the quality of my life is dependent how I strive to achieve this. I have allowed myself or been intrigued by the concepts of Ki, and all associated concepts, ever seeking to find the balance to consistently improve and maintain a state of well-being.
