Vera Woods is at her wit’s end.
Her husband has run off with the nanny, leaving Vera with a broken heart, three very angry sons, and even less time to juggle the demands of family and her career. After her boys scare away a sixth replacement nanny, Vera is out of time off from work and desperately out of options. Still nursing an aching heart, she turns to an unlikely source for help―a manny.
Lincoln Scott is no stranger to family chaos. But rather than grow jaded, he has thrown his natural talents into building his own business―providing live-in childcare for families as a manny. The money is great and the perks are a blast, but when his family of six years moves to Germany and their plans to bring him along fall through, Lincoln is suddenly unemployed and aware of how much of himself he’s given to other people’s families.
Brought together by circumstances, Lincoln and Vera’s mutually beneficial business arrangement becomes complicated by the undeniable chemistry they share. Vera needs a manny and Lincoln needs a job, but they both may have found the very thing neither one had realized they needed―a whole lot more.

About the Author
I am also a wife to my amazing husband, mother of a wrestler and a gymnast, and also a fur momma to Gaston el Papillon.
You can usually find me hollering for the whole Nashville Predators, since I’ll never give my heart to one player again. When I’m not in the gym getting swole, I’m usually writing, trying to make my dreams a reality, or being a taxi for my kids. I’m obsessed with Harry Potter, Supernatural, Disney, and anything that sparkles! I’m pretty sure I was Belle in a past life, and if I could be on any show it would be Supernatural, so I could hunt with Sam and Dean.
Also, I did mention I love hockey, right?

Vera is going through a messy divorce, and her normally rambunctious but well behaved boys are now out-of-control. Their father has left the family home after getting their nanny of six years, pregnant. Their eldest boy knows what’s going on, and is the ring-leader for bad behaviour. Now, after they’ve driven off the ninth nanny in a short period of time, she’s at her wits end.
Lincoln’s initial intention was to teach. Somehow he fell into the role of a full-time nanny and home-school teacher for families, the last with whom he’s been for 6 years. He thought he had longer, until they were moving to Germany, and weren’t taking him with them, because their mother decided to be home full time. Having loved the kids and spent more time with them than even their parents, he’s not only misses them, he’s looking for work.
Although they’ve never met, Vera and Lincoln have two people in common. Vera’s sister, Riana is married to Lincoln’s best friend, so Riana believes that Lincoln is just who Vera and the boys need. They know him and like him already, and she thinks he’d be a great influence on them.
I loved Vera as a character. She was strong and gracious, and, she loved her boys above all else. She is so many women who have been treated badly by a husband who had promised love and loyalty, yet dished out only guilt and betrayal. Her only fault was to stay with a husband for the benefit of her boys, and I have my own issues on that. He was a disgusting pig, and didn’t deserved her.
Lincoln is an amazing man in his own right, and I loved that his values aligned so closely with Vera’s – kids first. He is seriously a unicorn in the literary world of book boyfriends. He cooks, cleans, runs taxi-duty for the kids and is a basically a teacher. Add to that, he is all kinds of hot and sexy, and built where it matters! When I came across the most cringe-worthy of moments that I’ve ever read, I choked on my mouthful of wine in shocked hilarity. Almost a case of death-by-laughter and wine! I loved it, and couldn’t believe how quickly I got to the end.
Secondary characters can enhance or detract from a book, and Vera’s sister and brother-in-law are also best friends with Lincoln. They love them, and their worry for our characters, individually, ramps up the tension surrounding their relationship. Then, when Lincoln’s nanny-family want him to join them Germany, he as to decide if this opportunity of a lifetime is what he wants after-all.
All up, this is everything I recommend as great reading in a rom-com. 4.5 Stars.
Misadventures with a Manny had everything you want in a great romance novel! It had a great couple, sweet moments, steamy moments and excellent secondary characters as well. I enjoyed this story from start to finish!
Vera Woods has been going through a rough time and a lot of change. She has a beyond horrible ex-husband who continues to give her grief about just about everything even though he's the one that cheated. She is doing her best to raise her three teenage boys, but understandably, they are angry about the demise of their parents marriage and it isn't helping that Vera has to work more just to make ends meet. The nanny's that she's hired are pretty much like a revolving door, they just can't find one that clicks with the boys.
Lincoln Scott is not only the best friend of Vera's brother-in-law, but he is one of the best nanny's around. He's very loyal and loves to start working for a family when the children are small and follow them through until they no longer need his services. The family he's been with for years unexpectedly relocates, which leaves him without a steady job. While he's looking, he learns of Vera's plight from her sister and while it's not his ideal situation, he wants to help her out. He not only wants to help she and the boys because they need it, he's also completely intrigued by the woman Vera is.
As Lincoln starts working for the family, the boys get into a rhythm and begin to come out of their anger little by little. The other thing that happens is the development of the undeniable chemistry between Lincoln and Vera. While both of them are fighting it for different reasons, the question becomes will they be able to deny what is obviously sparking between them?
I really liked the role reversal in this story. You normally see the struggling father who needs to be assisted by the female nanny, so it was so refreshing to have the story told from this perspective. I loved the vibe between Lincoln and Vera. They were both strong individuals and while they both battled their own issues, in the end, they were stronger as a team. I also really thought that Toni Aleo did a great job capturing how the boys would have reacted with regard to their emotions and feelings following the divorce and all of the changes that happened in their lives.
This was a great story and you should definitely do yourself a favor and pick up a copy!
This book just had so many feel good moments, yes there were some pretty ugly ones too, but who cares with a Manny like Lincoln, I'd be flirting my little heart out too. Lincoln was just ... well he was simply divine. He had me from the moment he donned a glittery tutu and then to be caught wearing only a 'rubber duckie towel', this man was a keeper. Lincoln was the type of man any woman would crave for, he was funny, tender, sweet, great with kids and had the abs that definitely needed to be caressed. He was certainly one man I could swoon over all day.
Vera was simply gorgeous. A mum who did everything for her three boys. to suffer the way that she did at the hands of her ex and still treat him with a touch of civility - kudos to her. She was one strong sexy woman - even if she didn't think she was.
From the get go the chemistry between Lincoln and Vera was off the charts and to watch them fight against their needs only endeared me to them more. Even though the sexual tension was rife between them, I loved the way they held it together when the boys were around. but once they were alone - boy did those shackles come off.
Absolutely loved this Misadventure, definitely a recommended read.

I was hooked on Misadventures With A Manny from go to woah. And I mean woah, Lincoln!
I liked that this wasn't the typical workaholic single dad needs a nanny - we get the flip with a workaholic single mum needing a manny!
I love the push/pull between Vera and Lincoln. I mean, there is sexual tension through the roof with this pair, and it was just a matter of time before things became more.
I mean, I wanted to push them into the bedroom so they would get it on!
Their relationship is complicated, sweet and tender. It was a lot of we couldn't, we shouldn't. We can't. But they did it was wonderful.
Vera's boys are just amazing. And Lincoln really is a kid whisperer.
I love that Vera isn't some weak woman. She is strong, she is dedicated to her family, she doesn't take her exes sh!t (and believe me, right from the start there is plenty of cow poo delivered!). She is fighter.
This book just had me smiling the whole time I was reading it (well, except when I wanted to slap her ex with my kindle).
I haven't read many of the Misadventures books, and I know I should go back and read more of them in the future.
I can't wait to see what Ms Aleo brings us next.
